Looks like a pretty cool trail. I'd be interested in knowing more about it. I'll PM you tomorrow.

I was interested in it too Patrick. I actually already looked up where it is and it's really not too terribly far. Maybe get a few of the guys together and do a day trip to N GA? I bet @beno would be down to go.

It's about 1 hour 15 minutes from Vinings. The actual trail name is Bend N Hickory. I will defiantly go back and bring some more 120 trucks.

one of my buddies at UNG keeps telling me about this road, its also called dodd road. looks fun. I'm in for a little ride over to check it out sometime.

Look familiar???

Are you going to remove the running boards?

Look familiar???

Sure does, if I was going to be a big pr!ck about it I'd say it looks like Tyre's last ride, before he went all LuxoLexusGXus

Why would that be being a dick? It kinda does look like the one he sold. Except this is mine that I've had for years that my wife had been driving. Also it might as well be a Lex GX. Same drive train and its a limited so basically has all the same amenities. Just a sombrero front and back instead of an L. :meh:

For comparing yours to another one. Maybe it's just what I assume people with nice rigs would feel. I wouldn't know how it feels, no one comes up to me and says "Hey, your truck looks just like Elmer's over there - same dents, rust, faded paint, faded repaint, faded primer, bondo, peeling plastichrome. Yeah, just like his." :grinpimp:

My name is Ryan and my wife and I are looking at moving to the Augusta/Aiken area. Of course, I have to find a job first. More importantly, I have to figure out if I will be moving to an area with a good TLCA chapter. There are 6 clubs between Georgia and SC. Which one is closest to Augusta?

Thanks,
-Ryan

Welcome to Georgia, Ryan (almost). Upstate cruisers i believe is pretty close. But theres no rule saying you can only join one club! Keep an eye on the Ga page and we hope to see ya out on the trail with us.

I was a member of the BSLCA over in Lafayette, LA, but moved up to IL. No clubs up here. I look forward to wheeling if I get down to that area. I have a lot of work to do before I can go anywhere though. I put my 4Runner on its lid at SCC. I'm hoping to keep it a 4Runner, but we'll see.

thought that truck looked familiar, you get it back in 1 piece yet? Yeah UC is gonna be the local club over in the Clemson/Augusta area.

Pretty much been parked since. I'm formulating ideas but with it being chilly and dark by the time I get home from work, I don't feel like doing much. Plus I had to winterize all of my junk, fix some stuff on my car, and I am getting ready to pull the bed and replace fuel lines on my chevy. The 4Runner may have to wait until spring.

@tkinze can probably help you with ideas since he just rolled his junk :flipoff2:

btw- if you do move down here, we have our Annual Pig Roast and wheeling at Durhamtown in April. It is one of our closer rides to the area that you are planning to move.

I've been thinking about going truggy, but leave it as a 4Runner. If that's too hard, I may just end up with another body.

cough cough! :flipoff2:

Yeah--do come to Durhamtown if you make it down here. We have a good time.

Back on the topic of new rig ownership.....

My most recent addition to the fleet is an 86 Xtra Cab 4x4. It has a 2" suspension lift, 33's, and a basic aftermarket head unit. Other than that, it is about as stock as they come.

I had a rear tube bumper sitting in the shop from a 3rd gen I'm parting out that bolted right on. Other stuff from the parts truck that will go onto the 86 eventually too: Sliders, 33" spare tire, maybe the rear springs, both 5.29 diffs (rear Detroit), and the newer CVs.

This replaced the FJ80 that I had. The 80 was nice for the interior space and for the automatic transmission on occasion, but I much prefer these trucks for their MPG's, simplicity, reliability, and my own level of knowledge on them (and the amount of spare parts I have sitting around for them).

nice score Beno, betting Sidney is jealous.

was kinda hoping you'd make the pig roast seeing as it's in you back yard but I see you gots more more pressing matters. Good luck on the trip home.

Was reading your thread last night on modifying the 80 t-case and locking hubs for 80s for Nick, great write up. Trying to get Nick to install the hubs to make he franken80 somewhat street-able for GSMTR.
