Got the water pump off the 2h and sent pictures of it and other parts in question to @cruiseroutfit to help me gather up parts. They have been super helpful! Question for the group. I’m pretty sure the driveshaft is on wrong. I always thought that the slip yoke went up near the transfer case. At least that’s how it is on my ‘40. Our pig is switched with the yoke at the differential and wife’s 2001 lx470 the slip is at the differential. Just seeing what is correct?

Got the seats out and ready to pull engine. I’ve never pulled the whole thing engine, tranny, and transfer case all at once before but that’s how I’m going to do it this time. I want to make sure I don’t have any issues with the 2H mating to the transmission. Been making parts list and looking for a 2H starter. Hopefully engine parts ordered next week.

12 puppies at least 😳? She must be a tired girl.

Got the driveshafts out today and some other bits off. This thing has so many issues. The front differential has more slop than I’ve ever seen when turning the driveshaft. The rear has some that is a little sketchy too. Trying not to get too caught up in all the details so I can get this thing going. I always admire @JackA and how his builds look great and seems to have the right balance of what gets attention and what doesn’t. A little behind schedule because I was hoping to have the engine pulled by now.

Digging the engine hoist.

Imagine that pesky cable didn’t put up too much a fight for the bobcat 😂 No clue if an 80 series E brake cable would work but have a NIB one from the past here if it is of any help.

@NOSAJ You should know I am cheering for you 101% and I see it is a lofty goal. I am following along and hope you have smooth sailing all the way 👍

Thanks so much for the encouragement! @knuckle47 should have worked on the 45 today but the youngest wanted to work on the ‘72 pig so I spent time with him on it. We got it to move on its own in over 10 years. So that was a win and he’s excited. Back on the 45 tomorrow. Hopefully get engine cleaned for paint, remove pilot bearing and disconnect tranny from old H engine and test fit onto the 2H is on the docket for weekend.

Ended up having to work today and didn’t get to get started until 1:00. Got a little more cleaned on the engine. Discovered that my motor mounts aren’t going to work. The H is different than the 2H. So I’ll have to figure that out. Got the transmission separated from the H and test fit the bellhousing and flywheel and thankfully good there. The bellhousing has a break in it and the flywheel had a pressure plate screw broke off in it. I’ll take motor mounts, flywheel, and bellhousing to the machine shop and see what they can do.

Didn’t get a lot done today. Went to church this morning and came back to fix a mower and get trucks ready for tomorrow. Cleaned some parts and packed up my stuff for the machine shop tomorrow. I put the engine on the stand that is rated for 1 ton. That didn’t go as easy as I expected. Got it on there and it wouldn’t rotate. The whole reason I put it on there was to turn it upside down and really get the oil pan worked on and new pan gasket and sealed up good. So will have to figure that out. I didn’t want to lay on my back under the truck since I had the engine stand and thought that would make it a lot easier. Really hoping that my starter is going to clear the oil cooler etc with mating it to the 4 speed bellhousing from the H engine. Over in the diesel section I heard this could be an issue.
