Attached is the Air cleaner I found. 2.25 inch diameter (5.7CM) for the carb opening. Will check the dimensions of the 2 barrel 38 / 38.

sure looks like a 1 barrel air cleaner, it won't work on a 2 barrel.

My first 78 had a Weber carb, ran great never any issues.

My 2nd 78 has oem and it needs a rebuild so can’t compare but it runs like junk and only half choke.

I do like the oem setup and air filter looking stock but the weber seems to get an undeserved bad wrap in recent years. Maybe the old ones had issues but mine ran great....

but I also can’t blame you for looking at oem type I did to. And many venders like trollhole, racer, mark, Jim offer rebuilds or replacement units that are great

I have a Weber and plan to go with new desmogged carb from @Racer65 soon.

I have one of these from Racer65 too and it runs great.
