Nifty!!! This is something that I have been looking at doing for a bit now as mine is just as bad as that one. Can you share links to the fibreglass products you used Stan?

I do not have any links, purchased locally. Polyester resin and woven roving cloth. Standard fiberglass practices.

No thanks Cam, not interested in becoming the dashboard man any time soon :)

Primed, sealed and SEM texture applied. Hard to see in the pics, ready for paint

That looks like the kind of job a guy does cause he needs to and wants to make sure his idea works, but hopes that after the first one there never is a second one .

Awesome build!

Thanks for the laugh, on the mark on the first part :) In actuality I really do not mind, I like fiberglass and what can be done with it and I like the final result. This job is something a great many 60 owners have in their future unless someone steps up to start reproducing them.

Jammin, inner section has been buffed not polished. Outer section is sanded to 3000. Those fans seen on the fender are 24 feet away. Buffing out jambs is tedious, nothing but edges

Thirty one years is a long time in service for a windshield wiper assembly. So you know, while you're in there.... The Grease was about solid, certainly not a lubricant at this point.

The parts are actually in pretty good shape

You are too kind Jason :)

I finally got all the glue off the roof, stout stuff! Two coatings of paint stripper did not touch it, removed the paint around it but the glue just absorbed it.
One layer of Lizard Skin sound deadening and one layer of Lizard Skin Temp control

Next is a layer of Lizard skin on the floor. I need to mount the new long range tank first so that I can put in access panels in the floor for the pump and fuel sender. I am happy it's all one color!

The LRA tank from Cruiser Brothers went in today. This is one stout tank, 42 gallons. My customer wanted a long range tank and LRA makes this one as an aux tank for an 80 series. It's an 80 frame, I just flipped the rear frame sections so I had to cut that rear cross member out and re weld it back to the side pieces once sitting in the proper place. It'll come back out to have the filler neck re positioned and the fuel pump assembly cut into the top of the tank.

This is obviously a custom install so it required a minor amount of fab work. That aside, the LRA tank is a very nice option for those with a stock 80 looking to extend range. Not sure what they have that direct fits a 60 series.

That 62 tank will work well in a swapped 60/62 as well. Thanks Ward, great product and customer service.

Time for some fuel delivery, This is a PA-4 kit from Tanks Inc. The kit only handles tanks to 10.5" deep and this tank is 15.375" deep, I called them and requested that the tubs be long enough to handle a 15" deep tank. I just needed to extend that vertical piece pictured to the left.

Brand new gas tank and I'm cutting a big ole hole in it :)
The yellow lines (bottom center) is the layout for the existing service hatch in the 60.
The black lines are transferred to the truck floor for the hatch cut out.

Holes drilled. I needed to de bur the smaller holes. Got the drill through the hole without battery and put batt back on inside the tank. I lowered the wire through the fuel level sender hole and looped it around the handle. Held the handle up with the wire and operated the drill through the bigg hole with the other hand. It was interesting maneuvering around internal baffles.

A baffling build, Stan.
