The frame is naked, finished off a few welds on the bottom of the frame, it's loaded on the trailer to go to media blast.

This sits in front of the blaster's shop. My job is small potatoes compared to their usual work load.

Yes, they are re tubed. The PO bought them prior to my purchase. They are pretty stout.

The only thing I do not like about it is that it is rough and almost porous, similar to bed liner material. I contacted Lizard Skin and they told me it was fine to top coat it with paint. I use gloss black with the thought of dirt and grime coming off easier. So far it has worked out well.

Thanks for that. I'll look more into it and may give you a call to review later on.

Last bit stripped to metal and primed, under body, rear wheel wells and firewall are all ready to be shot with Lizard Skin. It will also be applied inside as well along with a Dynomat type material.

Hey Guys,

When I talked to the Lizard Skin guys about my 55, they didn't recommend leaving it exposed underneath, so I sprayed Monstaliner over the LZ. Nice and hard now and cleans out nice on the inside, too.

Main reason I'm butting in, I can't believe nobody has mentioned your 55 sitting there. I got to know, you building it next? :)

I spoke with Lizard Skin as well, prior to them releasing their own top coat paint and asked about top coating with paint and was told it is not a problem. I will be top coating with gloss black.

The tan and white 55 is gone
The red/grey leaf camo 55 is a buddies truck. Slated for some radical work some day.

I am almost through all the stripping/prepping painting of what seems like a million little parts. It just never seems to end and I guarantee I will find some I overlooked somewhere. Like sway bar clamps.

Starting to look like a roller
