the carpet in the truck was getting pretty ratty: Arizona truck so it was faded out and stained. The biggest issue is that with the wife and kid riding in it, the mud gets ground into the carpet. I wasn’t ready to go with just bare floor because I still put a few highway miles on it and wanted a little heat/ sound proofing.

The liner is nice quality and comes with some padding but just for the front floors. I wanted more insulation so I decided to clean up the carpet and just fit the liner over it. I wasn’t sure it would lay flat enough but with some trimming around critical spots it worked great. One of the challenges was getting all the cut outs right for the shifter etc - nothing is marked or cut. I had it in and out of the truck probably 100 times! Adding to the difficulty was that it never really warmed up v maybe got to 50F so if the mat wasn’t sitting in the sun, it was very stiff. Royal pain

Wondering if you ever worry about moister build up under the Vinyl floor which could cause rust. Carpet would allow it to air dry - I remember an old plastic bed liner that caused rust inside my truck bed between the bed and liner.

Just wondering if anyone had issues with vinyl floors?

Replacement carpet and vinyl flooring is available from Rockauto. About $120 to vinyl a truck. $230 for an entire 4Runner. Personally I prefer carpet.

It was a little over $100 direct from the company. I wasn’t too too worried about water getting trapped under it as I cant see it really getting that wet: not doing water crossings etc. I would think the carpet would trap more moisture on a day to day use? I just got tired of cleaning the mud out of the carpet. If I stayed in Arizona I would have gotten another carpet set

material choice based on location and use. Not to highjack this post but has anyone reupholster there seats with OEM patterns and material? Where did you source it if so? My seats have seen better days - most of the foam is failing apart and in need of a rebuild.
