Quick easy test is to just grease the ujoints and the slip joint and see if it makes any difference. John

OK so if Nothing is loose and is all greased then what?

no difference in either 2wd or 4wd and no it doesnt matter when steppin on the gas

ok found out that the rear driveshaft needs to be rebuilt. any suggestions on new vr rebuilt. what needs to be done. anu other info would be good to

Did you put the shaft back together correctly after the lift? The top and bottom u joints need to line up. I would buy a good used shaft before getting one rebuilt. Just check for play in the joints. I am selling mine for my 80 short bed since i swapped in a w56.

I would suspect the rear shaft slip yoke splines are worn

I agree. Mine are slightly worn, but i found a huge improvement when i used "Green Grease" on them. That stuff is very thick and very waterproof, I use it only on driveshafts (u-joints too). Vibration vanished, although i know I'm on borrowed time...

yup confirmed its the rear slip yoke.. Do I need a longer drive shaft with a OME 2.5 lift? I dont think so but just thought I'd ask... I should be able to r/r the slip yoke right? replace the u joints front and back on the rear d shaft and be good. Correct??

Picture?
