You found a 101, now the 60 is gone? Damn!

YA, go figure.

101 is morphing nicely into the new camping mobile. Picked up a new Syncrowave TIG welder so the aluminum bits are plentiful.

I could use a set of 31's for the bassackwards smokeshow I'm driving right now. Has wee little 27's on it at the moment.

Quite possible the raging squirrel cage that drives it won't be able to handle the increase in dia.

You already know how much I'd like to pay. :hillbilly:

Lookin for some 60 springs...

Battery is 7 years old, and due to be replaced. I've got space for a big 31 series (or similar). Anyone got any recommendations? Thinking I'll see what they've got at Western Star... But not sure.

I've been very happy with the batteries I've bought from Costco. Finding the right series can be hard sometimes though.

Anything will fit, I've got an long marine box, and it'll take a smaller battery up to a 31p (1050 cca/210 res cap).

Good to know about pos experience with costco batteries.

They have an excellent reputation with others too. Funny, I had an old interstate battery, as well as a new Costco one on my work bench at home at the same time. They were identical in every aspect. Made at the same place I suspect.

Pretty much all their batteries are around $95. When I priced equivalent Interstate Heavy Duty else where, I was seeing closer to $150. The battery I just bought there for my truck was a bit smaller than factory size, but came with a little plastic piece that fit under neath to make it the perfect fit. It is 1000CCA and 850CA. Truck starts very quick with it.

I have to chime in as well here. I researched batteries a bit when I had to replace both in my Dodge. The deal clincher was the fact the Costco clerk didn't even bother removing the date/year stickers for the warranty. When I asked her about it she said "It doesn't really matter, just bring them back if they stop working and get new ones".

So I guess thats the last set of batteries I buy for that truck. We will see if they make it the 10 years the OEM ones lasted. If they don't, no big deal because my p/u never gets that far from Costco anyway.

Now on the other hand, If I were still travelling to remote places and just plain needed the truck to start no matter what the case..... perhaps not my first choice.

Other nice thing about Costco, is they move a lot of batteries, so you know you are getting a fresh one. I'd hate paying full bux to a small shop where a battery has been sitting on the shelf for a year (bad for lead acid technology).

I've heard good things about battery direct.

Sent a lot of boat owners to them. One guy needed a bunch , said he saved almost 1k...( big bank of batts )

Called around, battery shop was $160 for Interstate, Costco is usually +/- $100 for their bigger ones, Walmart was $110 for group 27...

Western Star "Alliance" $120 for group 31... 950 CCA, 175 min Reserve Capacity.

Out with the old, and in with the new. Now the headlights don't dim even when he truck is shut off. :D

I'm a true believer in Costco, but wanted a bigger battery... Tired of small ones that crank slow when the engine is hot.

Anyone need a f engine that doesn't run? I got it when I purchased my 45. I don't know what is wrong with it as it was out of the truck when I go it. It's just taking up room at my place. Has distributor still, water pump, metal fan, single belt crank pully. Let me know if you want to come get it.

Got a crazy Idea, anyone got a set of third row bench seats that flip to the sides, fold down into a 3 seater bench?

I remeasured, and have reached the regretful conclusion that they're too big for the back of a 40... Just when I finally bought I'd found the perfect solution... Fold away, forward facing, easy to remove, 3 seat bench.

Looking for a set of five 70 series steel 16x6 inch wheels. Metro/Lexus Toyota quoted me $190.00 each for OEM wheels. A bit too pricey for me. Or I would take a set of 16x7 inch wheels with 3.5 to 4" B.S. suitable for a 60 series.

Cheers
