I've thought a lot about this too. Once it was past the first hill, it'll be easy to drag. Have to have a vehicle front and rear coming down hackett rock, because it would want to slide into the tow rig.

My suggestion: Multiple winches to get it back up on the trail. Since the front suspension is partially dismantled- we take a mig welder, a generator, and some scrap steel- remove the hood and weld it under the front end with braces like a giant ski. Try to find two rear tires. Drag it out with two rigs strapped together.

I've got a mig welder just need a good generator. Also my rear wheel bearing on the drivers side grenaded itself last week so my truck is out of action till Monday at the earliest.

Don't think my generator has enough smoke for a welder.

I would need at least a 4000 watt generator to run my Lincoln 210mp. I've got a 8750 Watt Honda generator but it's a bit of a hoss to move around.

What about bringing some rods and two deep cycle batteries, run them in series and weld with rods off the batteries? Did it in moab and it worked alright. Just bring a bunch of rod, two jumper cables and one electrode holder.

Travis was tomorrow out for you for a scouting trip? If so do you want to plan a run for next Wednesday?

I've got a Yamaha generator that will handle my mig. I think. I'll have to give it a try.

Any idea how the Yamahas compare against the Hondas as far as noise? I know off topic but curious for the smaller generators such as 2000w.

I have a Yamaha ef3000 at the house that belongs to my parents. You have to be sitting on it to know it's running. Super quiet. Pricey little things. This particular one was damaged by the fifth wheel hitch while in the back of the truck. Supposed to be fixing the panels on it, been like five years. Lol. Some day...

Earlier this week he said he was headed to RMNP for a week of camping.

Good to know. I thought the Yamahas were a bit cheaper than Hondas. I have no particular need, just get the preper itch now and again..lol

I have an EU 2000 Inverted honda that is super quiet. Just doesn't have the juice to run the welder, my 8750 has plenty of juice but its like parking the hells angels in your garage when you're running it.

Anywho, I've got my rig back together so I am availible this week.

I knew the smaller Hondas are really quiet, didn't know exactly how the Yamahas compared. I didn't realize the larger Hondas were that loud, thanks.
