Additionaly i'd love a picture to see exactly what to expect

Might be a while - water is a still a bit cold here and I only mount them up during the months we're using the boats. Likely June?

Update: I'm meeting up with a Craigslister for a set of Thule towers and bars this weekend. The towers are 7.5' tall and the bars are 58' long. I'd just like to confirm here that those would fit on my naked roof cruiser.

Here is the lisitng:
Thurle Roof Rack w/ Sup/kayak/bike CHECK SPAM

Thanks for all the help, Scott.

Thanks for the reply, Scott

Exactly what I have.
If you look on my pics my black 80 has them installed.

In addition, I have seen foam blocks that go onto the boat and you just strap down to the cruiser. I can't remember the brand name but that would be a REALLY CHEAP option with a very small footprint.

And if you get a grain of sand between one and your roof you'll find out 6 months later when the rust peeks through.

Said Grench. :bang:

Update: I got the set of Thule bars I mentioned earlier. The deal got me 2 extra bike mounts, pads and the attached rachet straps; all for 75$! Thanks for the help everyone.

One last question, should I be worried about theft? The towers do not have any locks. All that keeps the towers and bars mounted is a few easily turned bolts

Pretty sure like the Yakima set ups the Thule have locking cylinders you can buy.
Yup. Swing by any bike or ski shop. Cylinders and keys can be bought in matched sets so yiu can use one key for all the feet and attachments.
