I had mine blow out when wheeling, I used EFI fuel line w/ a screw and hose clamps to bypass the injector.

I never noticed the lack of cold start during the summer but when it got cold it was like trying to start an old chevy.

Unfortunately the fuel rail banjo fitting is under the plenum in the back of the block, not fun to change but not the end of the world. I paid 130$ for a new line a month ago, parts guy thought it was pricey and threw in a Toyota mug :D.

it's -12 F here right now blue skies sun shinning. need the cold start injector. i'm doing my heads right now so i have it all... well mostly apart, got some stripped exhaust manifold nuts i can't get to with a grinder.

Where is it broken? At the banjo or on the tubing? If tubing, just cut out the offending piece and replace with EFI fuel hose and clamps. If at the banjo you will need to replace the line, either new or chance a boneyard piece.

new

Just get a new one,it's fuel after all.it doesn't take much to catch anything on fire under that hood.

If a brand new one is $30 just get it. No sense messing with a used one or a McGyver fix when it comes to fuel under pressure.

They're actually pretty pricey from Toyota. MUD price is $157.50. Not sure if they have those aftermarket or not. It is pretty important if you live in a cold area tho. Can definitely create some starting issues.

scored one on ebay.. 24.99 with free shipping. scored a HID headlight conversion too. high and low beam 8000k

I thought about trying to replace it with EFI fuel line but it took me 3 tries to get my field repair to seal properly.

If a homebuilt cold start bypass had a leak at the rear banjo fitting you would have to pull the plenum to tighten the clamp.
