Success! So, through my fight with the wire tap under the console, I managed to inadvertently unplug one of the ground pins from the solid state relay... I stared at this thing for no less the three hours, checking connections and finally go back to to relay aaaaaaaaaand not connected. so, moral of the story, electron wrangling is not my sport.

I can also confirm that on my '99 LC, tapping the green wire with white stripe and silver dots, in the A pillar (as show in the photo below) will work. It requires lengthening the wire that comes on the harness but it is a hell of a lot easier to get access too. Pinching that tap to puncture the sleeve without pliers is tough, doing it in the a pillar I could use pliers.

Glad you got this working! Troubleshooting wiring is always fun ;)

tapped the illumination wire from the vent switch above it.

The instructions for tapping the dome light are a dead link and I can't find it on your website. Can you post them or point me to the right page, or are you not making the LC100 kits anymore?

Shoot! I assumed everyone installed them by now haha. I'm not at home, but if you give me an email, I can try to send them later this evening.

Rock lights still out of stock :[

Has anyone successfully wired up some rock lights for the 100 series whereby you can have them always on, always off and only on with the cabin lights? I'm thinking there must be some way to wire them through a on-off-on toggle switch but have come up empty through my searching so far. Rami's kit may be the way to go but wanted to see if anyone has tried this.

I doubt its all that complicated but I'm basically allergic to all things electrical and have steered clear of trying anything outside my limited electrical skill set.

Owl expedition had a relay wire harness combo that does what you describe. I'm not sure if he offers it with his DIY kit. I have his v3 kit that does what you describe on my LX. I have it on a switch on/off and when the doors open or keyless entry is activated.

I did this myself. I'll take some pics later after it stops raining. I may have also drawn up the wiring let me see what I have.

Yes. @Ramathorn15 has a way of doing it, I just did mine a few weeks ago.

It definitely seems like Owl Expedition’s harness is the way to go. Just need Rami to finish up the prototypes and I’ll be the first to buy. Messing with electrical stuff is way beyond my skill set but he seems to have nailed it here. I’m hoping he comes up with a way to have the rock lights off all the time (even when cabin lights are on). Would be nice to have that as an option.

Please do! Im curious which switch you used and how you wired everything through it. Wiring the lights and running to the battery seems easy enough but getting the switch right is stumping me.

I will PM you. I don't want to hijack this vendor's thread.

Is there a switch kit for the LX in the works? I really need a way to turn them off when the tailgate is open and I have camp setup.

I've been in that situation a few times too where I do not want the lights to stay on an extended period of time if a door remains open, and my solution has always been to just pull one of the pins going into the relay. I tucked my relay behind the drivers side kick panel so all I have to do to access it is barely pry on the edge of the trim piece and it's right there. No clips, screws, or tools needed. Pull one of the wires off the pin and then replace it when needed. Takes about 5sec

I have the 100% plug and play LX lights. There was no relay in my kit. I’ll take a look at what factory really or fuse these are on.

Interested in your method as well. On my LX I have them wired through the factory plug underneath the truck but have a interior switch on order and am curious how others have wired them. Thanks in advance.
