@Fourrunner I'm seeing a real need for your kits. OEM certainly can be used. But if replacing, why not upgrade to larger gauge and water tight like you offer, right!

It would be nice to replaces wires, when into a job that exposes them. Like a starter R&R, alternator R&R or timing belt service. If any blue seen!

So count me in on plug and play. Plug & play like in; wire block housing plugs for small wire on alternator and lugs on large wire, with abrasive wrap in place, would be sweet!

As I look over parts list online, just for alternator wires. I see three different parts numbers, actually four, but one discontinued. I've not studied to see differences. But here's the year grouping for the four:
(1) 89-02.
(2) Aug 02-July 04.
(3) July 04- May 05 discontinued. I've no idea why they show July 04-May 05 as different than Aug 02-July 04, as would seem all the 03-05 would be the same, IDK
(4) May 05-07.

I'd R&R if any blue seen on wires at lugs. It's a sure bet blue (oxidation) is following wires under sheathing. An air-frame mechanic who specialized in wiring. Once said to me; "you can bet blue indicates oxidation has gone under sheathing following wire strands, which increased resistance of wires".

While doing a timing belt job the other day. I noticed a non OEM alternator, had recently been installed. Looking to see if Chinese junk alternator. I noticed the signs of oxidation (blue) on main wire at alternator. This was in a rust free 00LC w/250K miles on the clock.

I see blue in many clean rigs at 1st ground wire to fender lug, which is easiest one to see.

As resistance goes up, our motors wear out faster and run slower. If alternator wire bad. We get reduced AMPs to battery which may kill it, and works alternator harder.

I totally agree with you. I can certainly make more, but cost wise, they may seem expensive. To make the cable, I would need the buyer's alternator cable. Not hard work, just very time consuming. To make the cable, I have to dissect the cable and retain some of the wiring that is ran in the same loom. I've got all the materials ready to make more if anyone is interested. I am looking for spare alternator cables so I can always have one available and would then ask for usable core in return.

Would be difficult to pull, ship and wait. I can't afford the time in most cases.

If your doing for a profit, as you should, for your expenses, time and effort. Why not buy OEM used or new for models. Also buy new OEM wire block housing plug(s) and pigtails where needed, like alternator small wire house plug. Then you'd have ready to go on orders!

I see this as becoming more and more a issue and needed as time goes on. At some point OEM harnesses will no longer be available. Even the housing blocks may not be available in time.

That is the exact approach I was thinking...that is what I meant in my latest response (last sentence). Got a few lined up, just need to pull the trigger, but was waiting for some committed buyers before I did. I also thought about the pigtail/connector housings to ensure the core was usable.

I’d be interested in a turn key option, pending price? Usable core wouldn’t be an issue either.

The positive cable to the starter is a really tough one. The lug that attaches to the starter itself it really uniquely shaped and I haven't been able to find anything that will work. All I currently make for the 100 is the alternator cable and the big three.

I'm not really sure why that one is necessary? If I am just adding more accessory loads to the electrical system, how does the positive to the starter help me?

The big three plus kit initially included the starter cable. Are you after terminal extensions only?
Not sure what you mean by terminal extensions? You mean battery terminals? I have those, I'm just thinking of upgrading the electrical to handle an upgraded Stereo system.

The OEM ring terminal on my Negative battery post is broken. That negative lead goes down into the bay and goes into a bundle of wires. This is the "main" negative lead. Are you making one of those? They left these leads really short and there is not much room for cutting the ring off and crimping to a new terminal.

I've not done a negative cable yet. That cable is extremely hard to get to. It is bolt close to the starter on the block. The intake manifold would have to be removed to get to it. I could certainly make one for you if you'd like. The other option is to get battery terminal extensions and then crimp on a lug to the factory cables.

I did that starter deal back in 2006. I don't wanna do that again!
