It is a really good run but I'd still put Sandstone or even better yet Truckhaven ahead of it. The problem with Truckhaven is I don't think you can really call it a trail so much as an area.

The first time I went out there was when I met Reid. We ended the first portion of the morning run in a really tight little ravine that was alot of fun. I've subsequently done that same little section but instead of climbing out at the point we did the first time, we took the more difficult section at the end. Overall, Truckhaven is about my favorite local wheelin' area.

I would also like to point out that The Perfect Trail Run would consist of a good number of people I would assume so a trail like SS Canyon would not be the best candidate for a number of cruisers. While your trail looks pretty wide open with a nice obstacle for you tall cruisers to show off on. ;p

Funny you should ask. It really didn't feel good on the way out when I was on the low side but on the way back, when I was on the high side, it felt totally stable. Go figure.
I had the same sensation(s) in that spot.

Hey Steve or Reid,

Why don't one of you guys nominate this outing in "The Perfect Trail Sticky"

We need more choices to vote on in December.
I'd like to run this one to the end before making an "Official" judgement. What we ran was very cool. Can't really imagine it turning into a turd.

There is an official "Truckhaven Trail" that we we're trying to find when we went out. We never really made it due to rig issues (we had an LC with us on 35's @ stock height). You really need a GPS to find the route. Scott (rckcwlr) said that portions of it have been closed (i.e.: the "Fire Plug"). Hopefully it'll open up again and we can run this sometime. IIRC, it's one of the main runs during TDS event (when it was in Truckhaven).

Huh, funny the first time I went wheeling with Reid, he got us into a narrow ravine in Truckhaven where I ended up getting wedged between a rock and a sand wall.
I didn't get stuck . . . ;p:flipoff2:

Horse Canyon was pretty wide. There are tighter sections, but turning around wasn't a problem.
