Anyone know of a reasonably priced upholstery shop around here? Or should I just go with CCOT or one of the other guys on mud.

I am also debating between marine vinyl, leather,
Or cloth. Most people I've asked so far say the vinyl or cloth. Would love some input from anyone who has re-done their interior.

Thanks.

Knowell's trim shop on Boulder st. does amazing work. One other good one in town I can think of is Timberline Custom Upholstry on N. Stone.

I just had my seats done. Did marine vinyl since its waterproof and I've resistant. He also put in memory foam cushions and they are nice!! Out the door $400 for the bench and drivers seat. Did it at northern window tinting and upholstery 3100 s prairie here in pueblo. 719-564-0166.

Way back when I was working on my FJ40, I had Timberline Custom Upholstry on N. Stone, do all the seats including the jump seats. I wanted to retain the stock look, so he said he had a product that he used on UPS/FedX trucks - "Wears like Iron", he sez. I had this done in 1997, and this is how it looks today:

Lets see, that's 17 years, and never in the garage for longer than a couple of days. Its tough, looks a little like Rino hide, from the animal, warm in the summer, cool in the winter. I never put the jump seats in, so they look really good.

Well. After doing lots of research and looking at some land rover leather seats. I decided on the rover seats. They are in really great shape. Heated too. Got the whole set fronts and back for $380

That's a damn sweet rig. I like to see people building 4x4's, and not just "Toyota's". Very cool seeing use of the technology available from cross conversions. Gives me hope that one day we won't have "Jeep" clubs, or "Toyota" clubs, or "Ford" clubs. Old F powered rigs were destined for Chevy V8 power, that's why the hoods are so long :)

Thank so much. First time I laid my eyes on a 60 series I told myself that hood screams give me a V8!!!

Luke. You would have really liked my jeepster I built. That thing was a beast.

Why the heck did you get rid of that Jeepster?!? That is way cool.

I couldn't afford to trailer it or tow it. It was super fun to drive around town and on the trail. But not very fun to drive a long distance to the trail. I missed my FJ62 with all the room and the cool lines. I like the ride of the 80. So when the option for this project came along I jumped on it.
