Its been awhile, but a lot has been done to the Unicorn. Threw a ton of money at her going through the EFI. All to come to a $76 canister...but great learning experience. I have put on a HFS lift and personally wished I had gone with the OME after all the issues I've had. Here are some pics pre and post lift. Keep the finger and outa the way when releasing spring tension.

So that lift was done in June.... I got her back from paint this week. Installed a new y pipe from rock auto and put on a magna flow exhaust. Have new cats on the way. Next up is BFG muds 33x10.5xr15. Going with black wheels if anyone has any suggestion throw them my way! She needs Tint and she def. deserves a new name. Looks amazing 4 coats of base and 5 coats of clear.
What wheels are any of you running that are black... interested in a model number if any of you have them handy.

She looks hot. I like the drilled fingernail, hahaha. I do the same! Gets rid of days of pain and a black nail...

very nice paint job. the cruiser is looking good, is that a 2.5" lift and how does it ride?

It is the HFS 2.5" LIFT. Anything was an improvement over the flat broken spring I had on it. It rides ok but wouldn't recommend it. If I had to do it all over again I would have gone with OME.
Here is why.
1.) The front shackles have no clearance to the spring eye. The recommended fix by cool cruisers was to cut the military wrap off the spring.
2.) I have over 1.5" of lean on the driver side of the cruiser. Suggested fix by cool cruisers ( NONE). Live with it they all have it. ( Main reason as to why I had now gone with OME) their lift are mad to compensate for this lean.

for the extra $100-$200 for the OME go with it.

Hell Yeah man. Figure the damn this is already damaged whats a drill bit to the nail after a good thwack, better to get at it at the momnet than wait till the next day.

Don't know if you ever figured out the wheels and tires but DO NOT go with the BFGs there is plenty of info in the wheels/tires forum about how lots of people are having serious cracking before 10k miles on them and mixed reviews. Go with something else to save yourself some heart ache and do your research.

As for the wheels/rims look at Stealth Custom Series (SCS) wheels as he makes one or two that are specifically done for FJ60 offset not needing spacers.

Hey azfjguy,

Before you put on the 33 tires you may want to hit the gearing calculator. I put on 33 tires on with the stock gears (3.73) and my acceleration took a bit of a nose dive. And I even have a 5.3 vortec engine. I had Lamb Chevy up on the hill by wall mart put in 4.54. (Ask for Dave in the performance shop) They make a hell of difference both on the trail and highway.

FJ62 stock gears are 4.11.

...but then there's that A440 auto trans...

I really like my Toyo Open Country MT's. Aggressive tread but not so much road noise that you can't hold a conversation in the truck. The tires are 10 ply as well.

You might look at Pro Comp wheels. 4 Wheel Parts Wholesalers seemed very knowledgable about the proper backspacing. I went with 17" wheels.

Weird, I have been running KO2s on several (8...I think) vehicles since they came out and haven't had a single issue. I really like them, a tremendous improvement over the old KOs (way better siping and no more chunking!).

I did go with the AT KO2 BFG. I had them on my Chevy and have 30 k on them with no issues (Arizona... dry as f@&k! ) 33x 10.5 x 15 for less than $600 new. Could not beat it! FJ will get less than 5k on it in a year.

Still waiting on that taco invite ! I didn't have to much power with the truck to begin with so I have nothing to compare it to other than my old 3.0 4rnr. I'm still chasing issues but it's getting there. Gonna do aussie or ARB lockers next and at that point will do a gear change over......... All in good time.

That paint was hideous. Glad u got it painted. I think the stock chrome wheels match the truck honestly. You have chrome bumpers so they match. The shackle angle on the lifted springs u got doesn't look very good either. I like having the shackles more at like 45 degrees or so personally.

That's been a main issue since install! The shackles are sitting on the spring eye! And the fix from cool cruisers is to cut the military wrap off the the leaf..... Horrriblw engineering. I have ordered OME Anit inversion shackles. The other issue is the the more than 1 1/2" lean..... ludacriss!!!
