Trying to figure out a rotational thump/clunk

Yesterday out of no where I got some kind of clunk/thump occasionally. It seems to appear most when I accelerate hard but it isn’t constant. It does shake my steering wheel pretty good but not always. Turning does not really affect it. I’m thinking driveshaft? Can I pull the shaft and lock the center diff and test drive? I have no reason to think the cv blew out of nowhere. Last wheeling trip was Imogene pass in July and I’ve put at least 8k miles on it since then. I tried to get a video but it is raining here before the big snow. Any thoughts?
About the truck.
05 GX470, 122k miles, Fox lift with 285s, this set up has less than 20k on it. CV boots were rebanded after lift.
 
Well I got about 6” of snow and it’s 10* outside, this should be fun.
Any other thoughts on my random clunking and steering wheel vibrating?
 
Whatever it is, sounds pretty nasty...is it a CV joint? When those get to poppin' on a FWD car they're pretty loud like that...
 
Can't exactly tell from the video while watching on my phone, but does the thump come as the acceleration linearly increases, or as the gear shifts?

I'd check your motor mounts, front diff mount and driveline first.

Good call, I was reading a post here the other day about someone who found the front diff mounts or mount bushings missing on his. I imagine that'd create quite a ruckus.
 
Sounds like a CV or diff. It isn't the DS because it would be WAY faster. That is at diff speed from what I can tell in the video. Still worth checking the DS. I assume it is coming from the front?

Yes definitely goming front the front. I think you’re correct in saying that it is more diff/cv speed vs DS.
 
Diff mount is easy because it will be cracked in half. Likely the passenger side. The easiest path for diff vs CV is to drop the front DS (lock center, remove front DS, jack up front end, rotate). You will find it fast if it is a CV because it will sound like a bag of rocks. lol. Diff will grumble. It didn't sound like a diff to me in the video, but you know how that goes.
 
It actually isn't hard:
1. Take off tire
2. Remove outer tie rod cotter pin and castle nut
3. Put castle nut on top of tie rod upside down (level with threads)
4. Apply hammer
5. Remove the dust cap from axle
6. 35mm with impact, remove nut from axle
7. Remove two bolts (19mm) from bottom of knuckle)
8. Swing entire spindle assembly out of the way and strap to frame (rearward)
9. Install synthetic CV tool noose to the diff side of CV
10. Stick hammer in the other end of tool, swing away with vigor (POP!)
11. Install new CV. Line up splines and compress CV inward, hit with hammer to seat the c-clip
12. Reverse removal to install stuff back

That's it. Super fast and easy.
