So we are just getting started on this. It showed up today though, took some effort to get it out of the transport truck!

It’s incomplete, we need front inner fenders and core support for body parts. We have no dash, no HVAC, no steering parts of any kind and no wiring. It’s a double tank Troopy but we have nothing for fuel tanks. I do have a new Troopy double tank lock and key set though!

Cheers

Haven’t seen this before, I suppose it is for the OEM roof rack that came with it.

It’s a weird trim to me, vinyl but has power mirrors & door locks. Also has rear wiper/washer and rear defrost.

Glad to see she made it State side!
Her Troopy Twin is still available. Nice to see this one is getting built right!

I gave the owner four options for poptop, in my opinion the four best brands.

-Alu-Cab, easiest to get

The other three I don’t have personal experience with but they are;
-Mulgo
-Mission 4x4
-Headspace

The owner like the Headspace the most. Both Mission 4x4 and Headspace will ship to the USA. Lines of communication have been opened with both companies.

Cheers

Looking forward to following another stunning build!

Always weird seeing people mention Ty on the forums. I've known him since 2006. Been riding bicycles with him for years. Dont see him much anymore these days once he moved out of California.

Rad build. Will follow. Have fun with it, Ian.

Do you have the sticker yet? If not, I’ll ask Ty to send you one.

Ty doesn't ride bikes anymore. I think he sold all of them. We were just working on his HZJ75 3 weeks ago. He's still in Tucson. I hang with him pretty regularly.

Part of the reason for the “One less Sprinter” in the thread title is…..

We are building this Troopy for an established customer. He and his wife were in the shop recently, we have the Hodgepodge Troopy here. She walked up to it and asked if it was a 70-series camper. Yes I said and deployed the Alu-Cab on it for her to see.

I heard her husband say, I have been telling her for awhile to get a Sprinter. She asked me a few more questions and that was the end of it.

Less than a week later they had purchased this Troopy body! So, One less Sprinter!!!!! 🤣🤌

Cheers

That seems like the kind of couple you want as a client.

Also excited to see another one of your builds getting started! I can't wait to see where this one goes.

Here is the new school hood.

Funny and rad at the same time, 2024 back in time to 1985, three generations of front clips now. They all share this pattern more or less, yes you may need to drill a hole or two per side depending which way you go in that gen year wise but still. 40 years! 🤯🤌

Oh nice the new school front clip will look pretty sweet on there.

Everyone has Probabaly seen this one, but that newer front end is growing on me.

Hello,

When it came out, I did not like it much. It resembled a first-generation Mitsubishi Pajero to me.

However, over time it has grown on me. The center part is a nod to the original design, including the three rectangles below the grill.

100% my feelings too. Apart from a direct side view I think it looks pretty good now.
