there's usually plenty of open seats at rubithon.....

let's go people! :steer:

it's in my calendar for next year, talked to D' Animal (Dan) about it and expressed my interest in showing up to this here deal...

Hopefully this Trip becomes reality and I sure would like to do this trip with the Rednecks from MS.
.... gotta get the Dodge ready for this adventure :steer: and that does not happened overnight...

not to mentioned that this time will not be stock.

I am planning on adding gauges, turning up the pump gettin 'er breathing better, exhaust and a new seating arrangement boys are growing up... I am not buying another tow truck, might add one of them sleeper camper thingy...

Definitely planning on this one as long as work does not get in the way.

Sir when the time comes you and I need to talk. You know that we're the tokens on this group, and we have to stick together:D

Both of you were missed at the crawl...

Chatting with Georg this evening and feel like starting to load out for next June tonight. Looking forward to my first trip to the "Con" followed by another dream trip to do the Dusy Ershim Trail. I'm sure we can find a few things to do along the way as well (like Vegas). Most of all, though, I'm looking forward to the time I get to spend with some of my favorite people. I can hardly wait! You in? ;)

Oh snap...

what is the timeline for this?

We are going to drive out and make a couple stops along the way. Rubithon 2013 is scheduled for June 18-23 but current plan is for us to hit the Con from 20-22 or so, take a day to check the rigs and restock, then on to do Dusy after that. I've never done this trip so will be relying on the locals (read Georg) to help form the final plan. Either way it's a two week long trip including travel about 6 travel days.

There has also been some talk of a detour through Moab on the return trip for those who can afford more than two weeks off at a stretch. I don't think I can pull that off but it's tempting...

hi! my name is georg and i'll be your tourguide for the week. please put on your pink hats so i can distinguish you from the rest of the tourists around here! :flipoff2:

i'll be more than happy to close the shop for a week and go wheelin with my cottonland and elwood peeps!

Tisa and I are in if the 62 can do some of it or we could hitch a ride on crazy stuff. We want to drive out west to camp a bit...

Georg can a sua 62 on 33s make it through some trails then 2k miles back. I would love to just leave it with you for some goodies but the caddy pimpin' business is not that good yet. I have hopes and dreams now we have another 4 years of the mack daddy

It's a 'Run Wutcha Brung' trip.

Hell ya
Don't you camp at night or do you stay in a cabin or something. Trying to see options for the wifey, she's not much of a camper.

Bossman what rig you taking? Is this a 80 or a 40 type of trip?

Georg said that I should bring the fj40 to get the most out of the trip but that either would do fine. Seating is a problem in the FJ40 so I will prolly bring either Half Ass(assuming Sherry let's me drive it again) or my 80. Dusy will require a few street miles both b4 and after so Half Ass will require a little work to make the trip thanks to my poor driving at Clayton. I, however, do have a plan...

I also need get my mind around the whole camping gear requirements for those few nights spent out on the trail. I plan to hotel it whenever practical. Still very flexible on this point.

I would love to do this. I doubt I can take 2 weeks off tho. If nothing else i would like to go do rubicon and come back. Whenever yall get dates or a tentative schedule of the whole trip let me know.

Yes 2 week trip will be hard for me too, might have to do this also. Still reserching this trip and how I can make it work.:hhmm:

The Pirate Ship was conceived for this type of trip. I really want to do this as a one week excursion. Head out the weekend before and arrive mid day on the 17th. The return trip would not be as leisurely. Head home on Saturday the 22nd.

I will carry both of my rigs, but could easily carry gear / people as needed. I can sleep 7 (2 bunks, 3 full size beds and two reclining sofas.)

There be pirates on the rubicon again! if there is is booty on the 'con it will be surrendered AARRGH.

The Pirate Ship may need bigger tires and a 4 link to test the waters of the Con, matey : )

I just had to ask the timeline. Already figured it was 14 days. I would love to think I could pull this off. That trip deserves 14+ days and that is just to big a stretch for me and work. Plus I would kill my kids after being 24/7 with them for that length of time.
It's gonna be a epic trip. Most of Cottonland will be living through you Bossman.
