I would highly recommend this trip to anyone sitting on the fence. Yes, it is very far and it will be expensive, but it will be well worth it. I will be towing my junk out there again.

The only way I could do this trip is to find an empty spot on a trailer and split diesel. I'd love to go and can get a week off for sure. Only got 45 days of leave!

Honestly, if you live in the South and you're not doing Rubithon because you can't get your rig out there, you might never make it and that would be a mistake. This event is completely worth being a passenger the whole way and/or just walking the trail with the event. Not to mention, there are plenty of folks out there with more than one Rubicon-capable rig. Borrow one.

Fireman that is some funny sh*t!!!!

I am pretty sure I will be making this trip. The only thing that will keep me from it is if I can't get the 40 ready in time. Got a long list of stuff to do to it:( Wonder what a hauler would run to transport a few cruisers out there.... A quick figure tells me it will be around a $1000.00 in fuel, about 4000-4200 miles round trip.

You figure out the hauler deal. Thats the only way I could do it. Fly out there, wheel and fly home.

so, i have a few things worth mentioning.

1) if you can't tka eenough time off, then fly out here and either ride with somebody or get your rig brought out here for you. one option would be a professional transporter. the other may be somebody like Roger. that old boy loves to drive, he's got a solid tow-rig and trailer. iirc, he hauled 4 cruisers all the way up to alaska. just sayin'. besides, i like roger and spot. they're more than welcome to attend!!!!!!!

2) if you're on the fence, then i'm here to convince you to make the trip. rubithon 2013 will be an event not to be missed. sure, rubicon is a little tamer than it used to be. but the number of rigs and the folks coming from a long ways away will be fantastic. i bet some of them we'll never get a chance to wheel with again.

3) one of the rules i live by is "no regrets". that's why i've made the trip to K1 and K2 every year ( except when garrett was born ) since 2005. it's also why i love coming to the crawl and i hope to make it to Clayton with y'all one of these times. yeah, i'll jump on a plane for that one but i hear it's well worth it. i enjoy the road trip, the food, the people and the wheeling equally. besides, the memories from these trips are priceless. beats the crap out of doing chores at home.
yeah, it's not cheap. but that's why we work hard.
how many of you regret going to moab in 2010? me neither. that was one of the top 3 trips to date. no BS.
the last thing i want is to be old and grumpy ( which will pretty much happen next week or so ) and look back saying " i wish i would have ...... ". screw that. work hard, enjoy your family, friends and hobbies. life's short!

i could go on.

bottom line. i would love to have you guys come out here and wheel with us. i can guarantee you'll be damn glad you did.

there will be AWESOMENESS to be had.........

I don't need to drive anything that is going to make me want to spend more of Lori's $$$$:)
