just throwing this out there.

while wheeling with some of the CLC crew in moab there was talk about going to Colorado for next years' summer trip. a few members also mentioned that they'd love to come out west and run the rubicon.

so i got to thinking. if you guys want to come out west for a summr trip, say in 2013, then we could certainly set something up. could make it all coincide with rubithon or run it a little later in the year and let the snow melt off first. maybe make it a week's worth of wheeling and throw duzy-ershim and fordyce into the mix. that would make for a solid week of off-roading.

just thinking out loud.............i know it's a long drive and a major commitment.

You all could stage your tow rigs and do any maintenance at my place between the southern runs and the northern runs.

Example:
Wheel Johnson Valley or Jawbone canyon, stop at my place to fix what you may have broke. Wheel the Dusy and a few other trails east of Fresno. Load up and head to northern california for the meeting up with OrangeFJ45. Wheel Rubicon and the trails around Truckee, etc.

Not doing much (only 2 trail rides) in 2012 since it will be the 10th anniversary and need to do something besides wheeling on that date.

Great plan. We be able to tour D'Animals chain saw museum too.

If you have the chance to do Rubithon, don't miss out. It is a seriously fun TLCA event.

But the trail on its own is plenty fun too.

Especially with Georg and his crew.

Sounds like a good time frame to plan something like this. I would put me at low 30% on making it all the way out there with vehicle in tow, but things change in 2 years. Rubicon is truly amazing.

Hammers is not on my list anymore. Been there, done that, got the Tshirts.

I know it's a long ass haul to get there!

...at least 2 days!... according to mapquest 27hrs 5. min/1850.89 miles to get to Fresno!

about 500 miles then Moab!

If I was to do Rubithon again, especially coming from the east, I would come in from the Tahoe side heavy. Make my camp and run the trail without gear.

The princess will go where the crew goes but to choose I'd take Cali for sure. Never wheeled there and lots of places in the area I'd like to see. I could stay in Cali a month +!
