@man0fsteel - its a 944 with a 924 body/interior. The 924SE came with staggered phone dials, cloth seats, and different shocks. Same N/A 2.5L, but apparently the SE also has an extra 10hp.

Waffles and the Not-944 share the same previous owner, so its all part of the story anyways... we just wish we had the 911 money lol

DC470 - Don't we all lol! For anyone else who is interested in the 924SE, here's a good watch. It's a very similar story to what TRDrew's find!

not much to report, @DC470 and I pull the roof rack recleaned the drains and all seems to be fine. under further water testing it seems to have a small leak around the windshield :bang: not 100% sure how im handling this yet. Im getting started on building and overhang off the back of my garage so it will at least get it out of the weather and i can tackle it once i get some other projects done.

On a better note im kinda diggin the clean lines without the rack on it, what do you fine people think Rack? or No Rack?

One thing i've alway hate about every 80 i've ever had was the ergonomics, the center consoles are just to low and its even worse in the early models. I bought a Tuffy console and its by far my favorite upgrade, idk why i never did it in any of my other trucks. Plus you can never have too many cupholders ;) i did find a NOS relay under the factory console along with about 1.50 worth of change so that was kinda cool

Wow that center console looks excellent! Is it specific to the 80 or did you have to do some custom stuff to make it fit?

no serious modification necessary, it's a universal console just had to make some brackets and drill a few holes in it to mount it in the factory location and then I cut the factory console up to make the little "filler" piece under the cupholders

No rack looks way better

Well ive decided to sell my roof rack, im just digging the way the truck looks without it too much. Its really sturdy and well built be great for someone that will actually use it.

mention "waffles" in a pm if your interested for a discount. that way i'll know you saw it here 🧇

Got a few things done this weekend, swapped out the outdated radio for an updated pioneer unit with BT.

Went up and saw my buddy @ToyotaMatt again to pick up a new front windshield washer pump, swapped that in and cleaned out the lines.

Matt and I played with the AC a bit, it hasn't worked since i got the truck. I was under the impression the the clutch in the compressor was engaging, turns out it was and the R12 had already been converted to 134a. We put a 12oz can of freon into the system and it started to blow cold ❄️❄️❄️. With the outside air temp in the 90's around here needless to say i was very happy. I wasn't sure how much was in the system to start with so i drove it into work today to hook it to our machine. We only recovered .30 kg out of the system and its supposed to have .73kg in it. Blowing nice and cold now. Ill keep an eye on the system because even though it passed the leak test on our machine I still believe it has a leak somewhere although i looked everything over but i don't see any obvious signs of one, next go around i'll put some dye in the system and try and locate it. As of now I'm calling it a win.

R12 to R134a Charge Conversion Formula (pounds only)
Take the R12 charge specification and multiply it by 0.9. Then, subtract that result by 0.25 pounds to get the proper amount of R134a charge

This might not be everyone's cup of tea, but I've had this momo steering wheel for a long time. It's been moving around between many of the vehicles I've owned and now it's found it home in waffles. Had to order a different hub off eBay to make the horn work but I'm happy with it. If anyone is curious the correct momo hub for the 80 is the 7115. Unfortunately I don't get to read "land cruiser" everytime I drive it now but my factory wheel is in good shape and it won't currently get anymore wear, plus this wheel is a bit thicker which is more comfortable at least to me.

Also got a great deal on a fsm, 60 dollars for both books, it's for a 92 but it's all the same for a 91. The electrical book has some wear but the actual fsm is damn near perfect.

well I have had a busy week, finally knocked out a project i've been wanting to do for awhile now. Full lenght 12 overhang on the back of the shop. can never have to much covered storage. as of now its all done including the grading and dirt work underneath. Tomorrow im having 6.5 tons of blue stone delivered with will be the floor then a quick coat of paint, to say i'm stoked to have this done is an understatement. Waffles finally has some covered storage

well another 91 3fe followed me home, most likely will be a part out but i'm not sure yet. Got some rust ( surprisingly a pretty clean frame though) runs pretty good, the PO gutted the interior due to a leaking sunroof, brand new tires, new shocks, some other goodies. Couple guys in the club are trying to convince me to cut it up and stuff 37's with no lift lol.

Bit of an interior upgrade, I was able to snag a set of brown cloth seats from a 94 in a fairly local salvage yard on the cheap. Got them extracted and cleaned up. The driver seat has some bolster wear but I'll keep my eyes out for a better condition one in the future. Gave me a chance to deep clean under the seats as well

I like the factory interior but due to the truck sitting outside most of its life the sun has faded the original seats out and it bothers my ocd.

For anyone interested my original seat are in very good shape for their age (minus the fading, idk probably could be dyed or something) and are currently for sale in the classified section

I picked up a damaged ARB bumper locally from @ritlax49 over the weekend ( thanks again brother ), the center bar was bent due to a poor recovery. I spent Saturday evening cutting the bar free from the winch plate straightening it out and hammer and dollying the bumper to get it as straight as I could. I honestly don't think it came out to bad.

Last it was time to get it on the truck one of the original side bolts broke coming out but I was able to get it out from inside the frame rail. Overall I'm very happy with how this came out and it's good enough for waffles. Now I'm on the prowl for a warn m8000

Ordered some new exhaust hangers found 2 broken ones. Most likely I'm gonna be getting my buddy to give me a hand with some new exhaust work hear shortly, and began talking with a company about some much needed dry ice blasting and undercarriage treatment
