Can't find any procedures to change the oil in a series 1 TRD supercharger for the 4.7 uz.
Any help would be appreciated or recommendations on a good Tundra forum that might have the info I need.

Thank you

what do you need to know?
get a kit from internet with oil and surenge open the plug and using surenge pull oil from SC , measure it how much you extracted then use new oil and inject the same among . that it

Skhochay,
Wanted to know if there is an easier way then taking off the throttle body to gain access to the plug.
As the engine sits sloping to the rear, so does the supercharger. Put in 8oz of oil and call it a day or fill till it starts weeping out like you would do on a differential. Will over filling (because of the engine slope) cause oil to sit above the rotor seal and eventually cause it to leak.

Fyi..as there was no answer back when i asked, i pulled throttle body and used 8oz of oil....

I never kn ew superchargers needed oil let alone had to have it changed.
For my info, what kind of oil does it take? How often does it need to be changed?

Spike,
Depends on what supercharger you have, roots superchargers use a specific oil, most use the GM supercharger oil as GM sold the most vehicles with a supercharger and is available cheaper then the Ford oil. Centrifugal superchargers like the rotrex or procharger may use a different oil, or engine oil much like turbos. Best to follow the specific reccomendations for those.

Magnuson, the manufacturer of the trd supercharger reccomends 100k miles or "lifetime" as in never change depending on who you speak to at Magnuson.
April was my first time changing at 30k miles, plan to change at 30k intervals going forward

Thank you very much, I had no idea.

I am going to resurrect and hijack this thread. I'm got ahold of a used OEM TRD supercharger that had been installed on a Sequoia by the dealership under warranty. It got T-boned and I ended up with the complete supercharger setup.
I'm planning on installing it in my 2004 GX470 (unfortunately, I sold my 100 series). It would be a good idea to have the SC serviced by a local performance shop.
1. Does anyone have any specific components that I should be aware of for a refurb?
2. Any advice or 'heads up' in terms of problems to anticipate or installation pointers?
3. Does anyone with a supercharged (or turbocharged) Toyota/Lexus run an oil catch can?
