Jeebus! Nice job Jason. Low profile, light, strong, incredibly adaptable and even aerodynamic if that's a thing you can say about a LC.

OOOooohhhh, see now I like that!!. What is the distance from the top of the roof to the bottom of the rail? Main reason for my question is that I have a roof mount rack/tray for my mtb. What I have found is that with the attachment for the front of the tray being on the underside it creates issues if the rack is too low.

can a light bar be added the way you have it set up currently? not sure if i’ll really want one but it would be nice to easily add one should one want to.

i really like it though and it’s so functional and adaptable. nice job. now to convince my wife!!

T,

The front crossbar is slotted up top and can accept most bars and several individual pods.

T and all,

Let me know who's in or out by Wednesday next week. I want to get a solid count and get these going. I'm already past the required order limit so this will help me get my final for extra inventory (approx. 4-5 units only)

That is a great question.

That answer was even better. While you might think 1" is not enough. It is, I put a RTT on my FJCruiser with less than that and it pissed me off. 1" would have been real nice.

Nice design and it is looking good.

Pricing again since its a few pages back now. I'm extended the price since there are a few more guys interested.

Pricing:

Bare aluminum rack is 815.00 shipped to a business address to the lower 48. Add 25.00 for residential address.

Powder coating is 220.00 additional (quite a bit of area to blast and coat on these compared to a traditional round tube rack)

Aluminum track tie-down pucks w/ stainless rings (x4) 35.00 additional
Stainless E-track ratchet straps 30.00 each

Where you'd clamp the rack down is a bit more as the roof starts rolling down to the gutter while the crossbar continues straight. I'd say about 1-3/8" there.

I'm really thinking of making a tube to modular design. I think it will look great and take the design back to an older look at the same time.[/QUOTE]

Yes, I think you should it could be really Kool, Please do it !

Fairing change will be in 2 parts:

1) lower edge will be raised 5/16" for a gap and also a edge trim piece to fit nicely. As shown it is barely above the ridges.

2) corner edges will tie all the way into to side plate on the same arch radii.

Side plate final changes are updated in the CAD software. I cleaned it up a little more and opened it up too. Couple ounces of weight are gone per side and IMO it will flow/look better. That solid bottom just looks clunky to me. Plus thinking of all the pine needles, road salts and leaves, etc... that will get trapped there. Those things will still be a problem here, but easier to flush out naturally or with water without having to remove the rack.
