For real. I just fabricated some brackets for my new front seats and I'm so out of practice my welds are honestly embarrassing looking. Plenty strong with good penetration, but certainly not something I'd want to have on something visible like a bumper or any armor.

Yeah man, it’s a skill and an art. You’re way out in front of me. I’ve seen your work and commentary. You’re a million miles ahead of me. Newb here. I set to it last summer. The holes I blew before I got the hang of it were huge… but, I filled them in and ground them down. It all worked out in the end.

If I was smart I would've got my bearings again with some scrap before I did the brackets. But I let my ego get ahead of me and thought "nah I still got it"

Not laughing at you or even with you. Welding that matters is for welders. If anyone could do it they would be paid like janitors. I can clean a toilet much better than I can weld. I'm open to learning, but I'd have to get a Jeep to get enough experience to get ok at it.

I know I talked you into it, but his work speaks for itself. I'm excited for you. You will need a grinder, a drill, a BFH, a drill, and a 1/2 drive breaker and sockets and some wrenches. That rear cross member is likely toast but you won't need it anymore.

Pete, as always... I got you when they are ready. I'll stay in touch. Hope all is well in NB brother. Hopefully we can meet in BC for some R&R one day at the property.
