Talked to Jeff yesterday afternoon, he seemed to think a months duty but said probably sooner to get home. Hope everyone is as excited & lookin forward to as me. Oh yea, raffle prizes looook goood!

Bri, do you think that my truck will be ready in time? That damn Katrina!!! I will be home in time, but where I go from there, who knows. I may be side by side with Jeff and James fueling choppers. If we can't get her up and running, maybe I'll just be someone's copilot/spotter. Has anyone signed up for the Drunk Guy spot on the trip? Maybe I could fill that spot. One job I am highly qualified for.

If Jeff has the parts I can begin work, haven't been able to talk to Lorie=no phone at his house.
Your truck will be ready if I have to work on it the night before.
Oh yea by the way....its sitting tucked away inside the shop. When the huricane came truck went inside shop.

You'll have to check this at the AL state line in October. I'm pretty sure that kinda stuff is illegal here...

Daniel,

Greg here... the guy you met with Jes right after the huricane.

We are planing this as a closed event just for our club and our friends.. We would be a-ok with the park being pretty empty other than us as we will have better trail access.

Well guys, I am home for a couple of days. We will be going back to Gulfport on Thurs night. We will be there through the end of the month. I can honestly say that I have never seen anything like the damage down there. You just can't imagine until you see and smell it first hand. We were on Hwy 90 today and they are making a lot of progress in the clean up but it will be years before it will be even close to what it was. One of the guys in the shop where we are working lost everything. We went to his apartment today and it was just a slab! There was also a 200 ft. barge sitting in his parking lot! We have lots of pics and I will post soon. I know a lot of the Cruiser community has helped in many ways and the people down there appreciate it and need it. One last little story. I was in Wal Mart a few days ago and a guy stopped me and thanked the Military for being there. He had his 4 yr old son in the cart he began telling me how he had lost everything and his little boy said "yeah, we lost our house but we've still got each other" It just tore my heart out.

Later,

Good to hear from you. You are in the thick of it. I've never appreciated the military as much as the last couple of weeks.
I'm going to help out in Colombia this Saturday. I've heard it's pretty bad there, though not as rough as the coast. We'll see how well my 60 pulls tree trunks.

what about some newbies in the area. can we play? we've got a few 40's and some other crap and are trying to plan a trip in october. maybe we can coordinate and come meet all you guys. anyways, we're all farmers up here and may be pickin cotton then, but we'll sure try.

Jeff,
Enjoy the diet Dew? Or did you trade it for copies of Mash reruns.

You are the man! You saved the day for me. I didn't take enough. You will never guess what we found on base a few days after you made the delivery. About 50 cases of Diet Mt. Dew! Under the cover of darkness we made an aquisition of a few cases. ;) Thanks!

Diet Mt. Dew makes the world go around. Right??

Is it time to go yet? I can't wait anymore!!!!!

Daniel

Only one more post and I will get an Avatar. Me so happy!!!

Finally the BIG 10. Oh and is it time yet?

Too close for comfort

I will have my rig there, but it may not be 100%. I've got to install driveshaftsthat were supposed to be here Friday. Now it will be tomorrow.

Have to build my cage. Already have my tubing, going to borrow bender sometime this week. Then install seats/harnesses.

Have to drill and tap steering box and get all lines run.

Finish up fan shroud.

Will probably screw down old transmission hump, rust and all. Will not have time for piddly crap.

Still have to build ladder bars. Have all material and have started, just have to finish up.

Then run all brake lines. Have some parts ordered.

Got two full weekends and about three days of vacation left. May have to do without some sleep.
