I'd have to lay my truck on its side, cause I can only weld in position.

im poor....... but i like cherries..............

I really like the tube sliders...
Im torn between

1) Making my own

2) Tube sliders above

3) 2BAD FJ's sliders

The tube sliders you have are look great, and for the price...
Its something to consider!

Looks awesome!

i wouldn't just be buying the sliders for anti door dings, but also for the offroad use. i'm just looking for something that does all the offroad protection PLUS the anti door ding from the blonde girl in the honda accord at walgreens. its like the cherry on top.

I would think that if you put them on at the right angle and had them sticking out past your door they would protect from low door dings, probably causing more damage to the other door.

The sliders will 100% F*#K up a door on any car. If a truck sits high enough it can still ding the door.

Does the manufacturer really recommend welding perpendicular to the frame rail? The welding shop I've used for over 15 years won't do it because it creates a weak line where the frame could then break.

The legs are set at angles, but it is hard to see in the photos. By using scab plates it speads the load out quite a bit (1 3/4" vs. 4 inches) as well as being attached to the face and bottom of the frame.

so an average joe's honda or camery's door will be blocked by the sliders without modding the tubes to a diff. angle dynosoar?

It's really up to you. Trail Gear recomends 15 degrees (more door ding protection.) I like a more tucked in look so I welded them up at 25 degrees. They still offer door ding protection even though it is of ZERO concern to me I have no door dings form cars, and the truck is 25 years old. But trees and rocks have made some dings.

Hey Dynosoar! Those look sweet!

No go off road and beat on them some so we know if they can take a beating or not. Inquiring minds want to know.

The price is less than half that of 2badfj's sliders, but from the look of them, I am not sure they would ever hold up to the kind of abuse that 2badfj's would. I am the kind of person that would rather do the job once, but often do it twice cuz I am cheap :flipoff2: The wife is doing her best to break me of this habbit.

So let us know man!

Hey Dylan, I painted after all the welding was done. I did decide 25* looked best. As far as angle on the frame I just marked the tubes with a white grease pencil and cut at the angle. There are actualy two angles you need to cut to get the legs flush with the scab plate. The front two legs are welded to the angled part of the frame and all four need to be angled down to the rocker.

Good Luck

No email, but I had them is two days.

Hey Dylan, Yes I ran four legs on each side. The tube they sent was not long enough for th front. However, I had a stick of the same tubing from another project so I cut my own. I notched the skid plate to make it fit more snug.
