Got the drive shafts in and the crossmember brckets welded in. Installed the crossmember, the batt is in the linkage is hooked up, We see if it breaths fire tomarrow. So you can put me on the show up list. (As long as I don't break the thing at Desto Mine in 2 weeks.) My yota is a long bed so I can haul quite a bit. Might have an open seat if anyone needs it. I am heding up from Marricopa I don't know the clean up area well can I meat some one at the exit ramp off the freeway

Taking your lead DD, I used your letter as a base and fired one off to Superstition Springs Toyota in Mesa. I frequent these guys since they're close to home and I get great service from them. This is where I bought the Sequoia and was treated very fair on that deal. The parts manager is also a hardcore rockrawler, which plays into our favor. Hopefully we'll get some good response.

I also rec'd an email today from Kelly Jardine at the CaveCreek Ranger Station. I replied and am waiting for further contact. It seems that they are very responsive and appreciative of our interest in cleaning up this area.

Lastly I secured a utility trailer with 3' tall sides for hauling out some of the trash.

Here is a copy of whaqt I sent to S.S.Toyota:

Hello,

My name is Branden Hoy and I am the president of a newly formed Arizona Toyota 4x4 club called the “Copper State Cruisers”. We are based in the Valley but have statewide membership. We are a not for profit organization. Our main goal as a club is to unite fellow Toyota 4x4 and Land Cruiser owners and enthusiasts across the State to make 4 wheeling more enjoyable. In addition we will plan on 4 big trail clean-ups per year to start with. We are hosting the first Trail clean-up on Sat. Dec 4, 04 down
Bloody Basin Road along the Verde River at Sheep's Bridge. A historical and truly stunning place, that is unfortunately being spoiled by an enormous amount of trash and old cars. The Forest Service along with the Verde River commission are
involved with the clean-up effort and are helping with donations.

As a satisfied customer, I have been happy to do business with your parts and service departments for the past couple of years. I am also aware of multiple employees within your organization who are avid 4-wheelers and I’m sure could appreciate our intentions.

We will be holding a raffle at the end of the day to help bolster participation
and make the event fun. We are hoping to get some raffle prizes sponsored by local dealers and 4x4 shops. We do not ask for much, and anything you might be able to provide would be greatly appreciated. Simple dealership items or even gift certificates for parts or service would be phenomenal gestures. We can return the favor by suggesting members and future members use Superstition Springs Toyota for parts and service, and give Superstition Springs Toyota some press on our website.

Please feel free to contact me via email bman5@cox.net or by phone at 602-763-0529 with any information in regards to help you may be able to provide. I would be more than happy to stop by and discuss our club and our intentions in person. We are really hoping to include Superstition Springs Toyota in our growing family of sponsors for these events

Sincerely,
Branden Hoy

Nice work B. what I am running it to is just plain old complacency. The businesses get hit up daily so the walls go up. i am very persistent, sooner or later we as a club will be a force with a solid membership and they ill then wish they could be a part of our efforts :)

so far it does look like the way in from a Cave Creek will be the fastest and most central.

Is anyone else but me coming down from the north?

I might unload and tow my tool trailer which has 24" steel sides and 4X8 more solid and road worthy than my other POS trailers...

***UPDATE***

I just got off the phone with Kelly Jardine at the Forest Service. He said that If we all meet at the ranger station on Sat morning, he will have more bags than we need and he can have someone lead us up there and they will open the gate at the damn so we can cross there. He said this cuts the travel time in about 1/2. He is getting the Volunteer form together for us, and it will be available for us to sign on Sat am. He is checking on the status of junked cars in the area. He believes today that they have removed the ones that were out there but will have someone check to confirm that there are none left to be removed. They also have a pressure washer with a sand nozzle that they may bring out for us. Apparently they have a major graffiti problem also. Anybody have a ZEP contact that might be able to sponsor us some biodegradable solvents for softening the graffiti?

**EDIT**

Pasquale,
Have you hit up any of the vendors here on Ih8mud? I'm sure that some of them would be more than happy to come up with some goodies for our raffle.

i went out there for a pre check, no cars that i saw. normal trash and graffitti. if we have a couple pick-ups i dont think we'll need big trailers, i am planning to just bring the cruiser and off road trailer.

Is the FS guy going to stick around and let you back across the dam on the way back? Or will you cross the river and come back through bloody basin? Or some otherway . . .?

Jared

His intention is to have one or more FS reps out there with us all day. They will also help with the cleanup and they will letus cross back over the damn to get back to their office and use their dumpsters to unload all the trash.

Not sure that I mentioned it before but they are VERY excited that we have shown an interest in helping to clean up the area.
