This is one of thepieces of equipment I work on.
That one's a Partner, but they all look generally the same.
2-cycle gas, centrifugal clutch, many cutting discs available.
And a lot of fun to operate. :D

We will be hosting 4 of these a year, next time for sure. Your gonna miss the Rush fest ;)

I am still pushing hard for donations from Right toyota, Discount Tire, 4wheelers.com and a few other local ( Phoenix) shops.

Rhino, any chance you could speak with the rangers let them know what is up and get what the offered to you on your last visit?

so what is the meating time and place?

The truck might be done i need to cut a new driveshaft. (the new tranny and transfer case was too lon and change the transmission mount back 4 inches. put in a batt. and put the new rubber on.

so hopefully I can bee there.

I am planning 9am at the top of Bloody Basin road Exit 259 off 17 North. There is a very large staging area. From that point it is approx. 1.5-2 hours down the road, mostly a nice road 'cept for the last 10 miles or so.

Others are contemplating coming up from the south crossing the Verde river. I will post maps in a few days.

Note: I am going to be coming from the North down 17 which is why I will be starting from the top of BB road. If it turns out that we are all wanting to start from Cave Creek I might be persuaded to change my mind. I have done the trip both ways

HERE is a PDF from the forest service with directions to Sheeps Bridge from Cave Creek

i'll go hit up the rangers and see what they have for us. i will be going up through 7 springs and will hang out where that rd meets bloody basin. i dont see any reason for you to come all the way around.

Deffinately in. No news on the trailer to haul stuff out yet. I just got the word that the company X-mas party is the same day. Guess I'll be missing out on the party. What else, supplies wise are we gonna need. Tons of trash bags, I'm sure. Shovels? What else?

Gloves, rakes, wheel barrow or hand truck... I am going to make a sifter in case there is broken glass in the sand near the river. I will get some of those trash pickers to save the back on the tiny stuff. We will need either a torch or something to cut metal. I remember a few dismantled cars down there. I have a small pos trailer I will tow behind the Tacoma. I am thinking of making a few signs saying something important.

anyone know where the closest landfill is?

OK the count is now:

7 solid yes - Me, Bman, Rhino, xrock, rightlane, hj60 & Yashica

2 qualified yes -accasbel, Sir_Titus

there is a transfer station in cave creek, it closes at 4pm on Sat

Cave Creek Transfer station

this would be the closest one to the carnage and on the way out.

We might have to get a tire disposal permit. Wondering if the FS can hep us out with some of the fees/permits for dumping?

If you would not mind contacting them I am stuck in Cali until the end of the month and it might me a face to face thing at some point. Especially see if they would float the landfill bill and or tire disposal permit. I would also like to know what they think about sign-age in that area either something they can offer or we are allowed to erect

So far I have landed 2 certificates from Discount tires for the raffle, more to come.

Looks like it is better to meet in Cave Creek due to most are coming from the south, ranger station is there and the landfill. Anyone know a central Cave Creek meeting place that would work?

FYI one of the many custom form emails I am sending out for raffle items and support. This one directed at 4wheelers.com

Hi, I belong to a newly started AZ Toyota 4X4 club "Copper
State Cruisers" based in Tempe but state wide membership. We are non
profit. My real interest in this club is spear heading trail clean-up.
We will plan on 4 big clean-ups a year to start with.
We are hosting the first Trail clean-up on Sat. Dec 4, 04 down
Bloody Basin Road along the Verde River at Sheep's Bridge. A historical
an truly stunning place yet loaded with trash and old cars.

I am looking to hold a raffle at the end to help bolster participation
and make the event fun.

The Forest Service along with the Verde River commission are
involved with the clean-up effort and are helping with donations. Could
you help by connecting us with someone 4 Wheelers who would be
authorized to hook us up with a few raffle prizes. Does not have to be anything big,
just a token item or certificate. We can return the
favor by sending members and future members to 4 Wheelers for parts
and service, and give 4 Wheelers great community press.

When you have a chance could you email me back with any help and or
contact info. I would be happy to meet in person and discuss this further.

Sincerly, Pasquale

PS I know you get hit up a lot for this, we plan on 4 of these a year and would really like to include 4wheelers in this growing community event

There are two gas stations along Cave Creek Road, neither have a huge parking lot. About 1 mile east of Cave Creek Road along Barlett/Horshoe Dam Road is the Ranger Station entrance. The entrance is a good place to meet. And when complete, the Ranger Station also has several dumpsters to deposit junk. Don't know if they can handle cutup vehicles...

If we can cross the Verde below Horsehoe Dam and at Sheeps Crossing... If you have a name at the Ranger Stations, please call and ask....

Got the rear drive shaft made and a front one. Need to install it tomarrow got a batt and the metal for the new crossmember brace. So it is looking good that I will be there.
