That's cool, was just wondering. There is a guy there on Craigslist parting out a 60 and was needing a part. No Worries. Just needing a good dash surround that goes around the a/c & heater controls.

There's one that's closer to me, but I've already got my eye on the dash surround :D

What else are you looking for?

Looking for a 60's fan shroud and front skid plate. Some 62 mirrors and a few other odds and ends

I've got the fan shroud.

Is it in good shape? Send me some pictures and check on shipping to 37938. Thanks Sir

More Issues

Well I had an hour or so when I got home from work today to do a little work on the engine. Decided to put the a/c compressor on and the starter. The compressor went on no problem. The starter is another issue. I had my block plate for the remote oil filter on and ran into an issue. Had to take the block off plate off the put the starter on. Then the block off plate has very, very little room to go back in. I don't see a way to get the mount bolts in now. It also hits the fitting at the back of the IP. Hey Mitch, how did you fix this problem. Did you get the same kit from Dustin that I did? Did you also get the same block off plate? Here are some pictures to ponder over.:censor: The last picture is from underneath and kinda shows how much room is left for the block off plate after the starter is in.

Will look into the fan shroud later this week.

For the plate, I had similar issues. Dustin sent me a new, thinner one....said he sent everyone else a new one too. There is barely enough room with the new one. Taking the starter on and off isn't what I would call easy....but it's doable. I actually have a very very long extension that is only used for that one bolt on the starter.

Plate goes on before starter.

Had the plate on before trying to put the starter on. It wouldn't go. I'll try again tomorrow and see if I can wiggle it around some to fit. Did your starter hit that one thing at the back of the IP. I think it might be called an altitude adjuster. Don't know if it will be a problem or not if they are touching a little.

What does your plate look like? Can you post a picture? I will be able to tell quickly if it's the correct plate or not.

It doesnt contact on mine but it comes close and is a pain to remove and install when in the frame.

Did you put in the tach sensor? Do it now, otherwise you will be removing the starter later....unless you're using the one from the IP gear.

The H55 adapters are all the same and so are the replacement oil filter relocation blocks. The starters all came from the same source.

The starter location was checked on both a 4BD1T and 4BD2T to check for injection pump interference with the different pump configurations, but there very well could be other configurations and the starter certainly is close on the 4BD2T pump I test fit it on.

If the starter is touching the filter adapter plate, I don't know why it would, it should have 1/16" or more clearance, but if it is then I would carefully remove material from the filter adapter plate until the starter does fit. It doesn't require a lot of clearance, the parts just shouldn't touch or else the starter won't seat properly.

Let me know if you have any questions.

I have the same setup. My starter does not touch the IP at all. I did exactly what Dustin mentioned on the remote oil adapter, and ground a little bit off one corner to allow the starter to fully seat. It was about a 1/16th notch needed, nothing major.

I am at about the same point too, ready to install the bell housing.

Thanks Dustin, I will try and get all of it sorted out this afternoon. By the way, I was the one that called super early on Friday. Wasn't thinking what time it was when I called. Sorry about that. Had some questions about the adapter and the bell housing going on but got it figured out.

Well got the starter and the oil block off plate fitted up. Needs a little tweaking for final fitment. Need some advice on the trans cross member. Taka a look at the picture and let me know. Is the cross member supposed to be at an angle like it is? Want to make sure before getting motor and trans in and all welded up. Going to a friends house to take some measurements off of his 60.

Sorry about that, thought that I had an over head picture. So, when you look at it from over head, it looks like one side is set back further than the other. If I recall, the passenger side is set back compared to the drivers side.

Is that a pre-mid-85 crossmember? My post-85 is straight across the frame, but in a slight v shape.

It is a cross member out of an 84 and the center section sits on two pieces that were bolted to the inside of the frame. It looks like it is almost twisted when you look at it from the top.

Well can't seem to get anything going on the trans mount or the motor mounts. Spent all morning measuring and measuring and didn't really get anything done. May put it on hold and get the axles rebuilt and the SOA done first. Then put the axles under the frame and try and align the trans and motor off of them. Any one have any suggestions? On the flipside, did get another patch panel cut and mocked into place. Here are a few pictures!!!!!!

I don't understand what you mean by the crossmember is bent. It's not sitting level on the floor, but it doesn't look bent in that pic.

When it was sitting on the floor, it appeared that the passenger side frame mount was sitting further back than the drivers side. That was looking down from the top. I think that is gonna be okay, just need to get the axles done first. Then get those in place and get the drive angles right off of the motor. Hope that makes sense.

Did get the axles torn apart and ready to get the cut and turn done. Just waiting on the guy that is hopefully going to help with this to call me back. Here is a picture of my naked axles.

Well I am going to start putting the axles back under the truck to get some of the driveline straightened out. Also gonna put the body back on to get the weight on the axles to see what needs to be done about the C&T. More to come............
