Well diesels are pretty slow to begin with.

Has it gotten slower recently? Or is this a new car that you haven’t driven much? Are you having a hard time starting it?

I don't have any experience with diesels, but if it's like a gasser you won't see much vroom vroom after changing oil and air filters. Was the truck running rough and you were expecting the filter changes to correct this?

You sometimes can get a little bit better performance if you replace the fuel filter and fill it up with ATF or diesel kleen, but even then it's not very much. All it does is clean the fuel system out.

If it doesn't have any trouble starting and seems to run fine there's not much you can do. Maybe run a compression check and see how much life the engine's got left. Also is it lifted by any means?

If it's lifted on 35's and still has stock gears, then yeah that would make it slow too. We're going to need a little bit more info on it before we can track it down.

But just remember that even a turbo diesel is going to be slow compared to a gasser.

Im guessing this was transferred from the mini truck forum. When you say its slow, what are you comparing it against? Im trying to understand if it has something wrong or if its just not meeting your expectations.
Normally a 1KZ TE would keep most people happy, my friends have one the same as yours and they love it.
Is it making any smoke or doing anything weird?

Badman9 is having power problems with his Surf also.

I would probably pay for an hours labour to get diesel a injection specialist to look it over. That E on the end of 1KZ TE is for expensive:rofl:
Look at all the simple stuff first, maybe drop the tank and inspect the fuel pick up. There is a piece of gauze that can get covered in crud.

Put a boost gauge on it and make sure your turbo is actually working. Inspect the turbo also. Check your engine codes. Make sure the boost sensor is still connected. Download the 1KZTE engine repair manual and start reading...it's all in there.
