Did you come along as a rescue truck? :D

How well do they do in the bush compared to a Landcruiser?

I know they’re surprisingly capable, but given the lower ground clearance and 2WD I’d think they’d have a hard time loosing you in the rougher stuff.
I took them on the biggest climbs that even I had to hit at speed and rpm, also took them down a fairly tough trail. They walked through everything easily, of course they need momentum and rpm to get up the big hills. Coming down a really steep hill was very entertaining as they locked up the front wheels and carried to much speed. I have some videos that I will try to down load. I had around 8 inches of clearance under my diff, they had 14 inches under their cars.

Adam had a bit of a kick in the balls, he had his throttle stick near the end and it threw the belt which runs the alternator and fan that cools the engine on a fresh rebuild with only a few hundred K on it if that. Was only a split second but it appeared to have seized his engine, so I towed him for a bit then he dropped the clutch in 4th gear and it started and ran??? He ended up driving home under his own power.

Better clearance than I’d have thought. The diff is only one point…

BTW, you need bigger tires. I’ve got about 9.5” under the diffs, 13.5” under the axles, 23.5” under where the running boards were. :grinpimp:

So WTF? This truck is in Vancouver. Has no one heard of this? MEK-EV.ca. I posted on Coastal Cruisers page too. Startled never heard a thing.

Yes that is Clayton, he just finished it up not long ago. I believe it is on a 80 series chasis.

Isn't he the guy who put an Audi engine into an fj40?

Pretty cool. Picking flaws in that is like saying you wouldn't date the swimsuit model because she has a mole...

I look forward to seeing more of these conversions tho.

I think it'd be fun to convert my green thing one day if the technology gets easy.

Gues the part of a 40 series
