Was this random or something they run each year? Are there other known times that dealers run big discounts during the year (other than black friday)?
I have a big order coming up and would love to take advantage of a deal.

I’d say in the past year there were three or four, of varying extra % off. It’s more often from certain regions too.. so doesn’t seem to apply country wide.
We really need a google sheet with tracking of sales so the community can begin predicting them.

I've already received my radiator from Fred Anderson. It wasn't double boxed like what was described above. I will open it this weekend to see if it's damaged, but for the most part it looks okay. FIngers crossed.

The air conditioning evaporator that they shipped me was extremely well packed, with an extra box with padding.
I thought it was Decatur that was doing that, not Fred Anderson..?
Haven't received mine yet from Decatur. But don't think it has been shipped either.
Yes, Serra is who was doing the double boxing. I wasn't expecting mine to be double boxed, but was just reporting that Fred Anderson definitely doesn't. So if I was ordering a radiator again, i'd definitely go through Serra.
Has anyone had luck contacting a parts department with a large order (greater than $2-4k) and getting a reduced price from their online store? Specifically thinking some of the more discounted dealers.
Pretty sure all the parts dealers have leeway. But your best deal is going to be during one of these sales. I called my local dealer to get a smaller parts order, and he told me the sale prices were well below his dealer prices, so he couldn't possibly match them. He may have been blowing smoke, but that's what he said. I have been able to get the same dealer to match online prices in the past, so they will definitely do that sort of thing. I doubt you will be able to get a price much lower than Serra or Fred Anderson advertises.
I talked with Serra during the big sale that crushed them. The manager said the regional Toyota corporate section sends them a check to cover the extra discount from the promotion sale, so it’s entirely possible these prices are below cost.
Anyone else still waiting on their order?
Got my first order, which included what is a quite rare part that almost certainly needed special order. A new clear face panel for my gauge cluster.
My other order with just a radiator hasn’t yet shipped.
