missed this thread the first time around. was in picking up parts last
week and Kristal asked if i was on mud, thought it was odd then she
hooked me up with the discount. thanks a lot Eric for setting this up...

Good to help out and to also see you again ~ Thanks for the service work too on your locked 80. Glad you were able to pass emissions, have fun in Baja with it!

Murf,

Thanks for setting this up! Kristal helped me out yesterday and couldn't have been nicer.

Thanks to Spike for letting me know this service was available.

GB

It's great being able to put the faces with the names. Nice to meet you GB and your (also) locked 80 series.

thanks again for everything Eric, i think i may have had a
real breakthrough dealing with my DPISD.... :D

Hey murf, how much were a pair of those hood vents?- The ones that you recently put on yours. They were from the dealership you work at yes?

-Josh

Yes they are - the Mud price is $51.44 per. They dont come painted FYI. The best feature is that they have built in threaded studs on each end that can be easily anchored down with some aluminum stock and nuts.

Some tape and a sawzall and your good to go :hillbilly: Some pics to show how they mounted up on post #8: https://forum.ih8mud.com/80-series-tech/248709-can-u-id-my-new-hood-vents-pics.html

Toyota O2 sensors: FJZ80 1996-97:

Mud pricing for the two: $106.58 and $117.26

Call on other model years for similar pricing.

I forgot to post up my experience at Camelback Toy...Murf has me thinking differently about the "stealership" label, however knowing he is a cruiser guy has a bit to do with that.

I took the :princess: car there for maintenance and had a good experience. I wouldn't think twice of getting a quote from for service if I didn't have the time/tools to perform the job myself.

My only complaint is that they aren't closer to my home...

for service i wouldn't hesitate for a second recommending
murf and camelback, he totally took care of me....

....just don't ask him to recommend a salesman. :bang:

Awesome experience at Camelback. Kristal was helpful, and the price more than paid for the gas from the E valley and then some, on just $50 worth of parts. My local (Big Two) parts place seems to add money to the MSRP to the point of being absurd. I'm actually shocked they can keep a straight face when they quote me a price on some junk. The only reason I go is because I have to drive by there on my way to work. No more, since they have to order everything anyway.

:cheers::cheers::cheers:

I wana hear this story....

Murf, Thanks again for your help yesterday. You rock man. 8 days and counting till I pick up my new cruiser. I'm so excited I couldnt sleep last night ;) Thanks again :D

Oh BTW next time I stop by I will hook Dusty up with a 20 spot. Tell him thanks for me.

Im glad we were able to find that "Diamond in the rough". They certainly spared no expense in keeping that 96 in excellent condition.

Congrats to joining the "80 club"

Frick!!! Well it fell through.... Found a really nice 93 though. We'll see. Again thanks for all of your help though man!! Take care ;)

hey, I had dibs.....

Claudia, dont worry Im still watching for you and Michael! In this case, he found an 80 through a private party and aproached me on helping him check it out before purchase.

It seems as each year passes, I see less 80's being traded in. Its no secret that you can get much more selling them privately than to take the low trade in value. :meh:

On another note, I see that someone actually traded in a 97 Turbo Supra at the dealership on Bell Rd. Last I saw they were still trying to sell it in the 35-40K range!

Center Diff lock switch $73.20 parts counter Mud price. This is the small "add-on" CDL for the 96-97 style dash (believe 95 too?). It fits in one of the small blanks on the dash by the hazard swith.

Part # 84725-60040

Thanks again for all your help Murf! I couldn't keep all these toyotas going without saving some $ on parts. I have been going to Camelback for parts since 2005 but now it's even better knowing that in service there's a cruiser head and Kristal is very knowledgeable when it comes to finding parts even obscure one's (plus she's cute).

thanks MC !
