Treading it into the block drain is a direct fit. No issues.I think I’ll just jb weld it shut for now. I was going to install this water temp sensor there for a more accurate secondary gauge but I think I’ll just abandon that for now. I’ve spent enough money on this project already and I don’t need to go buying more tools right now unless it’s absolutely necessary.

Way to get after it!Power steering pump all torn down. Tip for those looking to do this in the future: use your bracket from the block as the SST to hold the body while you pull things apart. Once you get to the point where you are removing the fixed ring from the back side of the body you’ll be confused as to how to get a grip on it to pull it out. I used a framing hammer and tapped with a bit of authority on the body and the fixed ring walked its way out slowly. Be gentle. Also.... watch out for those slippers and springs... yikes!
