I will be back in front of my work computer for a few more days. I've got a few days planned this week to catch up on emails to my personal box.

And that auto-reply will tell you to email
Look, I love all things Land Cruiser, I'm usually doing something related to them 364 days a year. But talking about them interferes with the great deal of time I prefer to spend out using them in the wild. I try and camp 60 nights a year and spent 100 days/year on a trail somewhere. I've got to get a few more in this next week. Which means I won't he answering work emails![]()
Which part # are you after.
17401-61090. First section off exhaust that would move US market exhaust above the from 1/79-7/80 FJ40s. Would not only move out of a place is easily get smashed it also allow a PTO winch to be used.
17401-61090 would qualify as a sub part number for a NLA part. 8/80-9/83 in the US exhaust ran above there frame but has a second small pipe for the EGR. Could see Toyota having a problem on the later ones because it effected emissions. 79 and 80 models that would not be the case.
Light switch out of the 84 HJ47RV from Australia. Should be a fairly common parts.

?? Are you looking for the GR Repro version of this?
Great question, I can't speculate. @OGBeno those were on your list?
I'll give it a peek. Another member messaged me about glass and this may be the same size/situation, air freight may be brutal and the customs/brokerage I have to do on a new part can be a bit of a chore. A switch is easy, we bring hundreds of 'switches' regularly. I've never brought over any exhaust. May be able to class it as a manifold for customs.
I’ve brought in exhaust pieces from Japan. I’ve never had any issues bringing them in.
Off topic and I apologise for it but someone has a big finger in the US bearing market pie, hence all the attention. The same US made bearing retails here in Africa of all places (and other places too) at a significantly reduced price, even with our high import taxes and freight charges. Japanese bearings (Koyo, NTN, etc) are a fraction of the US price. It's not an possibility issue, it's the paperwork I have to fill out on many genre's of parts, particularly big stuff via my shipping broker. Bearing worksheets, cable worksheets, anti-dumping affidavits. Use commercial sellers like Amayama and others and they handle that. Air freight dodges most of that but is also crazy $$. That leaves LTL, I use a LTL broker based here in SLC that is significantly less expensive than paying retail parts and shipping rates. But I have to deal with the paperwork and coding on my end, technically it can be a sheet for each part number if they get picky. Sometimes they ask for nothing. Bearings seem to get the most attention, fortunately I've got a doc prepped for each of them at this point.

Add to that the practice of splitting the cone and cup in separate packages, something not found in most other places. Good thing that you have your paperwork ready to go.
We have to do a form for each package marked with a different part bumper. Some exporters will bundle and OEM bearings are sold as a set so that simplifies things.
I've not ever really sorted the situation. Obviously the industry is protected here in the US but why bearings and cables specifically? I've had to do origin paperwork on tons of manufactured steel parts but bearings and cables want sizes, roller type, etc.
could figure out it's part # ?
Build a well curated shadow box of switches, something that tells a story and can be hung on a wall. A home can be found for that. There is no room in the display cases at current for even a fraction of what we currently have.
it is only a light switch pull knob and the PTO wind and unwind knob .....
