Went to my friendly local tire shop and got the tires balanced. What a difference that made! Some of the stickie weights had fallen off. I don't like that style but the hammer on ones won't work on my wheels...

balancing does help alot! I'm always surprised by how much...next time, I may bit the billet and do the balance beads inside the tires tho....

Research air softs pellets. PBB had good info on varying weights, diameters, so forth.

They can be bought in bulk, saving some, but weighing them out can be tedious and have to have small scales for.

I don't. :)

Been running 12oz of air softs in 35x12.5x17 KM2s on bead locks for ~60k. They work well, except at slow speeds, but a tradeoff to be able to drive home from the rocks without nerve shattering affects, after loosing chunks of tread off road.

Cheaper than the brand names and, essentially, the same thing, minus the valve stem that allows for easier tweaking, since large enough to get the beads through.

If doing again, I'd add 16oz to those, though.

Opted to do stickies for the 37" Krawlers on the 80 and can't keep weights on it. Have oversized valve stems, so figured I'd try conventional balancing first, since vacuuming out the pellets when changing tires sucks, but the valve stems aren't large enough to cram the four golf balls I'd like to try, and not wanting to break the tire down to add them.

Got a couple things done to the pig here and there. Sliders, secured the smittybilt console. I did however do something that gained me nothing but a laugh. It's a joke, so don't freak out and think I like jeeps. I'm mocking every jeep around with this emblem. The joke goes, now I'm "trail rated" so that means I can go anywhere!

So the plan was to run the pig around for 2 months on temp tags. I wanted the local fuzz to get used to seeing it around so that once I put legit tags on it I wouldn't stand out quite so much. My last temp expired a few weeks ago. So I finally put plates on it today and drove it home from the cruiser barn. Wish me luck.

Good one!

Knocking out a few things to try and get an early start on prep for cruise Moab. Last week finally made an anti-wrap bar. Today I moved the steering box forward 2 inches to correct the clearance between the drag link and the tie rod. Maybe this year I'll make it down....

Swell overnighter? What swell overnighter? Have you decided on an engine for yours yet?

We meet I believe weds. night in the swell, have a party and trail ride the next morning. It may be full by now but worth taking a look to see if a spot is still available.would love to have ya! just running the F for now and a 12ht down the road:)

Thank you for the invite sir. But there is no way I'm coming down that early in the week. Probably going to arrive Thursday night ish. Pigtown runs and drives and is licensed and insured currently. There's a few things I'd like to accomplish before Moab still. But the traction bar and moving the steering box were on the list.
