I bought a US General from Harbor Freight about 6 months ago and I'm happy with it. It has heavy casters and ball bearing drawer guides and came with rubber drawer liner. I'm looking at getting the side unit next. I would have loved a Snapon box but this one only cost me around $750 for both boxes.

As a side note /hijack.

I used tar paper as a drawer liner and it works great !! I couldn't find anything in one piece to fit my drawers,41X16, and I did not want to add any thickness. Plus I did not want to spend any money.

It is strong, thin, deadens the sound and is rough enought so that things don't slide around.

Hijack over. Continue on.

You know that's a damn good idear.:hhmm:

Ya, the tar paper idea is good, I'll have to try that. I bought those uber-overpriced drawer liners from Sears once, they wrinkled up and got in the way. Been using cardboard since them (cut up computer boxes), works well.

I was in Sears last night and stopped to gander at one of those shiny stainless boxes they had on the floor. Looks nice, until you pull a drawer out. Felt like it was made out of tin foil, flexed really badly.

Mine is fine. I wasn't going to get the stainless box until I walked into the store the second day and found it marked down $175.

Drawers are fine. My only wish would be that the drawers were just a little deeper. Hence the tar paper idea.

I know it is too late since you already bought one but, hit the pawn shops for a good used Snap On. I picked up my last 2 KRA 59's for $175.00 each.

Here is how they fit.

And yes, they are all full well except the Puller Cabinet. I have the pullers but not the insert to hang them in it.
