Make sure the lead wire from battery to starter is good. I had same issue on my40, wire looked good at first glance but was shot.So I must be missing something put new starter on n and nothing no clicks no run put old starter back in and nothing what am I missing
Is there a starter relay on fj60?
So take this all with a Grain of BS, not being a SB Chevy guy, but one small wire should go to your ignition system, the other to ignition switch. Ignition switch in run, sends power to solenoid relay on starter, and when that gets power, it sends 12v out the other small wire to ignition coil. Any chance in hell those two wires got swapped? Shouldn’t have a neutral switch, or starter relay (no ECU). So if your starter makes absolutely no sound with key in run, with a new starter and solenoid, I would check power with a Test light at ignition switch output with key in RUN. If no power there- jump ignition switch and see what happens? If power there, then a short in Wire between igniton Switch and starter? Or crazy s*** like bad new starter? Assuming there is no other safety switch / relay between the two. Or an inline ignition fuse or something? Sorry. hopefully this is a little helpful not a garbled mess of malarkey! Good luck!2 small and 1 big one to the battery
Bad starter outta the box?She lives![]()
