First time for bread, worked great and no greasy mess. Twine on the OPG too, buttah. Or was that buttah on the bread??? ‍♂️

Ok my knuckles and parts were masked off and painted and I also added new studs for the bearing caps and I also opted for LowRangeOffroads knuckle/spindle studs with nuts rather then using the stays quo bolts In an effort to make all the wholes in the gaskets and plates lined up and everything go together easier.

“Store” that 3fiddy in that blue stripes 60.... ;) I’ll haul it out when I find some Benjamin’s laying around!

The 6.0 going to be big enough?:bounce:

Spent half of yesterday and today disassembling my knuckles. I had to get very creative separating the disc from the hub. She’ll get new discs, new steel brake lines, etc.
Happy early Birthday to me, Wed I’ll be 44. Best way to spend a birthday; in the zone rocking to music and working on the truck.
Well deserved beer while I cleaned up.

No worries.

What's the trick you use?
Take a household staple and straighten one end and use it to push up through the port and push the throttle thing upward. Obviously gently reem around the top edge first to remove any staked bits. Mine was missing the spring so nothing was making it pop up until I tried that trick.

Nothing crazy, but buttoned this fawker back up. Clutch, flywheel turn, OPG, rear main, slave and master, yadda. She runs like a dream!!! 397k and strong.
Now for ujoints, carby, and front axle rebuild. Gonna be a sweet truck. Rims and tires in garage waiting for dry sunny day.

That's a great suggestion! I'll keep that in mind. Going to bring a few staples up to my shop and keep them handy! Hoping to not have to deal with that issue again for a while, but......you never know.

Cleaned, greased and reassembled the free wheel inside. Leaving it the old stock look. Then painted the hub. Rain finally let up late afternoon so I got the races pressed into my hub w/ the old races I cut. Then the sun broke through so I took it that I was doing something right. Packed one bearing (why does that timkin grease remind me of being at the dentist?) and added the seal. Installed the studs and am that much closer to completing my first knuckle job on my 60.
