s*** man, I wished I’d spotted this sooner. I have a great trick for getting that little bugger out when it’s staked down too tight. Looks like you got it tho!Digging deeper into a carb rebuild for my 6/77 FJ-40, and practicing my patience and problem solving!

No worries.s*** man, I wished I’d spotted this sooner. I have a great trick for getting that little bugger out when it’s staked down too tight. Looks like you got it tho!
Take a household staple and straighten one end and use it to push up through the port and push the throttle thing upward. Obviously gently reem around the top edge first to remove any staked bits. Mine was missing the spring so nothing was making it pop up until I tried that trick. No worries.
What's the trick you use?
That's a great suggestion! I'll keep that in mind. Going to bring a few staples up to my shop and keep them handy! Hoping to not have to deal with that issue again for a while, but......you never know.Take a household staple and straighten one end and use it to push up through the port and push the throttle thing upward. Obviously gently reem around the top edge first to remove any staked bits. Mine was missing the spring so nothing was making it pop up until I tried that trick.
