...in a minimum built 40
I went from a pretty well built 60 to a SUA 40 and the differences are immense. Here in the northeast the 40 is SO much easier to weave through tight trails but the 60 on 38s made for a solid rock crawler.
 
Leading a group of mixed wheelbase and tire size and locked rigs you start to learn where different trucks are challenged. The spots where SWB SOA bust pinions, where LWB rigs cut driveshafts in half. A few inexperienced drivers making mistakes and a few yahoos saying “hold my beer”. I’d be lying if I didn’t admit I’m a bit nervous about my son in his first time in a minimum built 40 (he’s driven the 80 previously).
Ohh the number of times I have heard motors rev, followed by a bang, the throttle is not your Freind…
