Man I dont know, Woody said he blocked me, I respect that & didnt question it, I let it go, I think I got my point across and everyone thinks the SAS guys are sand filled vag's and they are. I will continue to post nonsense in other threads to bury the SAS so please bear with me during this time of unrest.

Peezy If you keep poking the bear My guess is you will get Banned from the Site next . It's not worth it for something that has no effect on you . Let it go my friend . We are all Guests on Brians Site.

(I posted a version of this in the SAS thread as well)

Just wanted to drop a note to thank everyone who puts on any event, be it Rubithon, RoundUp, SAS or beers in their driveway. The Toyota Land Cruiser community really is a great group of folks that really care about sharing knowledge and good times. Whatever you want out of an experience, at least you’re doing it in style in a TLC or close relative.

And thanks to @woody for providing a place for us to come together.

Coming together…. Hoping to be driving her by beginning of April for a solid shake down before the long (slow) drive to NorCal.

Oh snap, I have been blocked from posting in the SAS thread, that means I was annoying them. They must have a few mods in their pocket. Just shows how sandy their crotch is.

Dear John... your incessant replying simply to keep a post at the top only degrades the value of the information contained within. While you have a personal goal of not letting another thread sit atop the pile, your replying simply for the sake of replying downgrades the integrity of the thread. This is Rubithon 2026. Folks who want information are not interesting in dredging thru page after page of your comments about another thread. They want to find valuable info and will respond with questions, which is then your opportunity to push your agenda. As Jeff notes, let it go my friend. Focus on our event, not another's page count.

Not bagging on you, we all appreciate your input when it is event or truck focused... but lets stay on target and topic. See you Thursday El Presidente.

Rubithon topic: Yes, I am registered. Yes, I am doing gold panning and horse shoes again, and this year Adults who participate and show me a BB get to participate in the nugget drawing. My favorite line from last year was '7 kids and 39 adults showed up to gold pan'.

See you there! Stay safe!

If I had to guess I would say no . But that is not my call . In the past they have let us have a fire at night in the designated fire area .

Meh, think we will have fires this year ? I am planning to bring the campfire in a can.
Is it a propane one? Jeff may have to check me on this, but my bet is we'll be under stage 1 fire restrictions and with so many people in the Springs, we won't have wood fires save for the big fire. It is possible that you could have a propane fire pit, but that would be at the discretion of the caretakers

Any propane running implement that can be turned off by a valve is normally allowed during fire season. The key is you can turn if off and it is off! Folks who claim they know fire etiquette usually leave hot embers upon departing camp. They either don't know how to properly extinguish a camp fire or are simply too lazy to get water from the river.

Yes, you must still have a fire permit for using your propane stove, the fire permit process is basically a learning course and your way of signing which states I am financially responsible.

I am very confident we will be able to use the main fire pit in the meadow during the event. Propane is the way to go for local camp ambiance.

Another fun fact or question answered...

Who sets the fire policy for the privately owned Rubicon Springs and what drives that decision???

Rubicon Springs follows the surrounding National Forest fire guidelines and restrictions. If the adjoining forest lands initiate restrictions or red flag days as in no burn at all, RSSI follows that lead due to many reasons, but primarily financial liability. Are the RSSI fire restrictions sometimes over zealous or more restrictive than the surrounding NF?? Yes but remember, if folks see one campfire then they believe they can have one, etc etc and the next day, we have 2 or 3 campfires still burning or smoldering causing concern by both caretakers and enthusiasts running the trail.

At least this is the rationale I give when asked 'why can't I have a fire, this is private property, right?'

Not to mention the amount of smoke that lingers in that little area with that many little fires going

Normally we do not do this but we are working on adding these to be able to be purchased through TLCA website. For those that can not attend .

We love to see the 80's show up because they are loaded with food and all sorts of electronic fun. Would be fun to have a scale and give an award for the heaviest 80.
I resemble that remark!

If you do not love your RTT now I think you will h8 it on the rubicon. There are some really tippy spots, like where I'm sure I'm gonna flop. I don't but it feels too close. The trees will also threaten a RTT. This is a trail I pack lightly for.
Sliders are sometimes handy for just maneuvering around a rock, use them to pivot on. I like mine as narrow as possible, without those kick-outs.

That's odd; traditionally the Wagon Run sells out quickly. Those 80 guys usually pack a full kitchen and know how to cook.

Funny thing is I'm actually planning on bringing a rtt this year. Caveat is that it is a small RTT that fits within my racks rub rails and weighs less than the kayaks I hauled in last year. Yeah, I would not run the trail without sliders.
