Is it still called a build when you been at it 40 years? I had a front brake caliper seize the other day so I replaced both fronts and their soft lines. that's probably just routine maintenance, not a build. How's everyone that's doing builds before Rubithon coming along?
I think it'll fit. That thing has all the beef!Is it still called a build when you been at it 40 years? I had a front brake caliper seize the other day so I replaced both fronts and their soft lines. that's probably just routine maintenance, not a build.
But this piece for the build came in the mail today. I'm pretty sure it's a genuine real Ruff-Stuff diff cover for a LandCruiser axle that I've been wanting for years which they don't even make any more of. Hope it fits with 4.88s.

What springs are you going to?I don’t think swapping springs on my 80 and replacing a leaky rear brake line counts as a build.
Slee 4” heavies. The OME J springs are just not up to the task of my heavy 80. Tired of dragging that rear bumper when loaded or towing. What springs are you going to?
In the classifieds, here on 'Mud, naturallyWhere did you find that Pig ?
Think you're preaching to the choir here...HEY, 12 days until registration closes for Rubithon, no late sign ups, get it done...
Wow! Just a bit to get wrapped up. And I’m afraid to start my power steering project because “I ran out of time”.35 days till I hit the road heading west…. All back roads to Quincy to drop off bikes. Then down to Tahoma to meet Georg and company.
Dropping driveline in tomorrow to locate new frame mounts, burning, then systems integration. Hoping to put 500 miles on new engine/transfer case/xfer and then drop the fluids and start my drive with my co-pilot.

I don't feel as bad now. You're farther away from being done on one rig than I am on two combined. Should have rear axle in one tonight, then the other this weekend maybe. Nope. I’m planning on not doing the common Saginaw Steering. 80 box with fj62 pump on the drivers side. Unless someone can convince me a better way.Doug do you already have all the parts ?
