I didn't know an island cruiser parts group existed... I put in a join request.

Imagine the look on your face a few years ago if you knew you'd be saying something like that about facebook at some point in the future, haha.

Honestly, I still hate it. But reality is all the good used s*** is getting posted on there now. What choice do we have. We'll all break eventually. @cruiserpilot is still holding out I think....

Nope, just too much going on this year. Garage sale pending, everything not sold gets dumped. Next year now.

Haha, I hate it too. But with guitar and amp stuff Craigslist and usedvictoria are pretty much obsolete.

I just use it as a Craigslist alternative really. I'm pretty anonymous on there.

It is unfortunate… marketplace sucks, but it is where to find bargains. I picked up a Mac 2400 compressor in excellent shape for $60 that works great. It needed a filter, but that was an easy fix.

One of these days I need to start selling off the surplus.

Spare 4 stroke backpack leaf blower with rebuilt carb if anyone is interested. Bought a bigger Comercial one to blow the needles out of the lawn faster. The smaller Troy-built blower does the job, but the ECHO replacement is faster for needles, Leaves are easier to blow.

Good scores!

But, I gotta ask, why not just let the needles and leaves in your lawn turn into dirt? I just mow/mulch mine.

The needles in ours are 2” long and choke out all life. If I leave’m there’ll be a needle and weed patch and no lawn.

Won’t last long

Last spring I bought the Milwaukee 18v string trimmer. I freaking love it.

Always starts, you let go of the trigger, dead silence. And not the rage inducing dead silence the Stihl gas trimmer would emit.

It goes on sale in the spring and they throw in a leaf blower. I'll never use our gas leaf blower again. It's just too easy.

I still have the straight shaft Stihl with the saw blade on it for bush whacking but that's a different story.

For general daily mickey mouse s*** the battery stuff is awesome.

The Milwaukee stuff is really expensive here, a few places carry it locally but they basically don't understand the concept of a sale.

I should really grab a few things next time I'm in Canada....

It's one of those things. You pick a brand and commit so you have lots of batteries.
I'm sure other brands are decent too. I just had a few Milwaukee things already.

Interestingly, the trimmer came with an 8.0 "high output" battery, and it makes a noticeable difference if I put that on my angle grinder.

It'll only charge on the newest charger, not the old ones so there's something different about it.

New Milwaukee batteries are still compatible with their older products. Makitas newer battery packs require you replace all your tools since they are not compatible with the previous tools.

I was given a cordless Milwaukee Sawsall and battery many years ago. I decided to get a package from Home Depot with a 1/4” impact and hammer drill that was reduced to $200 with 2 (1.5 ah) batteries & charger (from $300) plus Milwaukee had a promo throwing in a 2.0 ah battery free of charge ($128 normally).

I don’t do enough to warrant replacing all my corded and air tools with cordless. These days corded a dirt cheap compared to cordless… and if I only use them once a year I can drag a cord around.

Yeah Makita cordless added a little tab so batteries wouldn't fit. You can cut the tab off easy enough but it's a dick move to put it there.

I thought these were much higher priced? Even for USD this is a new V6 diesel and its pretty well equipped.
35K with 3 days left. I'm going to follow along on this one. Curious.

Wow, 1 day left and bids at $45K Still cheap considering normal inflated prices. Wonder if the Overland Van
is coming back to earth?

Yup, I think Van life is dying from what I've seen.

Except those who have no other option; but usually they're in a sketchy old 80's dodge camper van or converted box van etc. RV style fan unit on top is always the give away....that and condensation on all the windows, lol. Lots of those parking all around Victoria; usually moving every day to avoid attention.

@cruiserpilot If you ever consider one of those vans, have this a read first. You'll like your 12ht even more afterwards (if thats even possible, haha). Ya, I'm already on the Milwaukee system, have around 7-8 tools. All of the cordless systems are expensive here so at least wanted to have something to with decent tools and a fairly long running battery system.

Milwaukee seems to be a good one to stick with. I left some Rigid 12v Li-ion stuff at my sons in the interior… they stopped selling the replacement batteries making them almost obsolete. I decided to switch over to Milwaukee because, so far, they seem the most future proof.
