Kinda cool. Volvo Laplander

Too much money of course, but I wonder if that little thing has the portal axles in it?

Wonder if I could drive this on the ferry to get over here? :D

I wonder if those steering tires do anything or do they just plow furrows when you turn the wheel?

Maybe the steering wheel cuts the drive to one of the tracks when it's turned?

But then, if that's the case, why have the tires at all?

Haha, I was wondering the same. I imagine the tires just free wheel and power/steering are all in the tracks.

Funny how the Jerries liked air cooled motors so much. As they persisted in VW Porsche for so long.

Almost like they can be stubborn and refuse to change their minds or admit fault...

Nah that can't be it. 🤣

Seems like a lot to me, but 3Bs and 5 Speeds aren't cheap. If I had unlimited time and money I'd buy it and build a 4 door 45 on it with a box on the back. But neither of those are true so I'll have to live vicariously through someone else.

It doesn't seem that long ago that you could buy a rusty 60 diesel with a 5 speed for $1500... That said I saw a '77 F250 at Country Grocer with rust holes in the rear corners of the box and a banged up front bumper... asking price $20,000 obo. Now $20k seems crazy to me... I don't know how they'd feel about a $2000 offer which seems high for an old 2wd farm truck in my mind.

Its about $7500 too high. Just a tad contradictory??
Me and bcsteel are both throwing away parts kept far too long to have any value. Could probably rebuild this and two more
trucks with all the parts. But junk is junk, let it go. Really got to stop looking back at the price of milk and bread at 15 and 10 cents.

The H55F was really just a H42 with a fifth gear external housing bolted on the back and had an inherent fault where some would pop out of gear while driving if one let off the gas while driving downhill.

He means to say his does not have this issue.

Ah, I guess he should have stopped with the last sentence. Brain fog from Cosmoline fumes I guess.

I had one that did that. Just randomly enough it was a surprise every time. Step on gas, voom... nothing happens. Dammit 🤣

If only they'd kept the gear spacing of the 4 speed for the h55. Took me a long time to not hate these 5 speeds.
