Based on pictures I’d say it needs some tlc… possibly a solenoid pack and motor. But who knows.

This is in Calgary. Anyone wanting a swap this is a good price if the mileage is as stated.

I see it looks like it’s parked in front of Steve’s @ EBI

I forgot to post it, but there was a really clean 85 Celica posted for 2500 bucks. Was an auto too unfortunately, but it looked like it had spent the 40 years in a garage.

Can't find it now so I'm guessing it's gone to someone who'll flip it for 3x in a month.😔

Not a bad price in this day and age. A mechanic in Manitoba bought this for his kid while he went to UVic. I saw the truck many times here, and it's a decent rig.

too bad auto. Wondered what happened to the kids truck. I like the looks of the flares on that 61, but man they'd get some abuse.

Pretty hard to find manual trans diesel 80's. I think I've only heard of one or two ever for sale in Canada.

The early diesel 80's (1990-1991) auto's sucked bad, and burn up when worked hard. But in 1992 they put lockup in 3rd as well, and trans is electronic I think. No more burn-up problems apparently. The 1HDT is improved in 1992 also with different pistons and a few other things.

That 80 would be good for a diesel transplant into something....

Regarding the flares; imagine following @stevebradford down a alder road to a bog!

This probably belongs in the 'GOLD' thread.... Neat truck though.

Seller's Description

Please only contact me if you are interested in buying. Will take new photos soon. Basic Info:• 2007 Series Landcruiser that underwent a frame-off restoration (with a galvanized + epoxy coated frame) in 2021 at 94,000 km’s• Every part of the truck was replaced, re-built, or re-finished, with the goal of having a brand new (but upgraded) 79 series Landcruiser in Canada. • 1HZ engine - 4.2l, inline-six cylinder diesel• Putting new 255/85R16 tires on the truck in the next few weeks (slightly larger)• I’ve put over $150k into the truck; so I think my asking price is reasonable. There are some remaining tasks to complete to get the truck 100% finished off, but the truck is completely usable and I’ve put 55k kms on it since the rebuild without any issues. I tried to ensure every step of the rebuild was done correctly or above brand-new spec. See list of work below:Body:• New passenger + driver side door• New Hood• New windscreen, door windows, and back of cab window• Bodywork done to cab prior to paint• Underside of cab, bed, and wheel arches sprayed with Raptor• Body joints seam-sealed • Entire truck painted with Endura EX-2C topcoat in factory Midnight Blue colour• Backside exterior of cab, inside of quarter panels, and underside of hood sprayed with Second Skin Audio Spectrum liquid sound deadener to eliminate resonant sound between cab and bed/canopy• New headlight assemblies Chassis/Suspension• New front axle housing, knuckles, wheel bearings, CV joints (birfields), all other front end parts• Rear axle housing, driveshaft, lower arms, other parts re-sprayed with black primer/paint• Frame sandblasted, stiffener plates welded to center of frame, hot-dip galvanized, seam-sealed, and painted with Macropoxy 646 industrial epoxy coating.• Old Man Emu suspension kit + Terrain Tamer 700Kg parabolic leaf springs• New cab and box mountsEngine, Drivetrain, Mechanical:• New AC system take off from 2022 mine truck (evaporator, condenser, HVAC box/blower unit, amplifier, wiring sub-assembly harness for AC, dryer, hoses + hardlines)• Engine completely rebuilt @ 94,000 kmo Block + head re-machined, valve guides, all bearings, piston rings, pistons, injectors, full injection pump rebuild (seals, gaskets, switches, springs), front timing cover, water pump, all gaskets, etc. • New main fuel tank• New secondary fuel tank (with new locking fuel caps for both tanks)• New clutch• New radiator• Brake booster refinished• Rear differential rebuilt with Eaton E-Locker• New factory exhaust• New higher capacity alternator (110A vs 70A)• New upgraded brake system from Terrain Tamer o Front calipers, ceramic pads, drilled + slotted rotors, rear drums + shoes• New factory steel rims + foot steps; powder coated matching satin black • New side steps, raised air intake, airbox, and airbox lid takeoffs from 2022 mine trucks • Lots of miscellaneous parts (camshaft bearings, new steering damper, engine hanger, expansion tank cap, thermostat, thermostat housing + seal, all belts, bushings, bearings, transmission oil seal)• Differential, transfer case, and transmission breathersElectrical:• New rear wiring harness• New components of front wiring harness grafted onto existing from new 2022 mine trucks (some components were missing or altered)• Dual battery system with 2x Odyssey ODX-AGM-65 + Blue Sea Systems 500A ML-ACR• Blue Sea Systems Fuse Block mounted in canopy, wired to auxiliary batteryInterior:• New power window and central locking components taken from 2022 mine trucks• New steering wheel, seatbelts, headliner, floor mats, shift knobs, emergency brake lever, all plastic trim and handles, all dash components (incl. heater control assembly). I have a brand new door and glass to put on. Existing door works fine, but is bent a little out of plane and has some rust. Easier/better to replace the door than fix. • Small areas of rust found on 2 places on the truck: drivers side B-Pillar and a small amount of paint bubbling just beneath the windshield on the driver’s side. • Dent at the back of the tub and on tailgate on passengers side • Passenger side front quarter panel could be sucked in a little bit tighter towards to hood to get a better reveal between the hood and the quarter panel. • Small dent on the roof top tent and tear in the bug mesh on one of 3 openings• New AC system is charged and installed but is not wired into the truck’s wiring harness. The compressor is currently just running off an on/off switch inside the cab. • Fuel tank gauge in the cluster doesn’t work, dash indicator for rear-locker is negatively switched (rear locker indicator is on all the time, but turns off when diff locker is engaged)• Engine burns a bit of oil since getting rebuilt. I’ve put over 50,000km on it since rebuilding and I haven’t experienced any engine issues. • The starter and alternator work perfectly, but are some of the few parts that weren’t replaced with new ones. I have brand new ones I’ll include in the sale.
