@gaijin wise sir, please advise on the pressure for Michelin Defender LTX M/S2 LT285/65/R18 125S E1

Thank you!!!

I'm guessing you are putting these on your 2015 LC200? If so:

The RCTIP (Recommended Cold* Tire Inflation Pressure) for those LT285/65R18 tires on your LC200 is 42psi Front/Rear.

*According to Toyota:

Tire Pressure vs. Tire Temperature

Tire temperature is dependent on “cold” tire pressure, driving distance and speed, ambient temperature and road surface temperature. As the temperature of the tire changes, air in the tire expands and contracts, changing the tire’s air pressure. The cold tire pressure for all Toyota models will vary and will need to be adjusted accordingly.

“Cold” tire pressure, as shown on the tire pressure label on our vehicles, is generally considered to be the pressure in a tire that has not been driven in the past 4 hours and has been parked outdoors.

Perfect, thank you!

@gaijin Pressure for Bridgestone Blizzak DM-V2 265/60R18 110R on a 2009 LX.
Thanks.
(and yes I am looking for a larger sized set)
If that’s an ISO metric 110 standard load, the RCTiP for an LX is 36PSI.

Hi @gaijin could you please tell me the recommended tire pressure for my 2016 Land Cruiser with BFGoodrich All Terrain T/A KO3 in LT285 /75 R18 129S E1?

Sure!

The RCTIP for those LT285/75R18 tires on your LC200 is 35psi F/R.

Happy holidays, @gaijin! Would you please give me your thoughts on the PSI for my rig?

2014 LC with 2.5 Kings, loaded ARB drawers, sliders, front runner rack. Running GEOLANDER AT 285 65г18.

Two questions:
1) normal PSI for everyday driving?
2) increase PSI when doing a long (400+ miles) highway trip?

Thanks!

Do yourself a favor. You can run as low as 37psi F/R RCTIP and completely meet the load requirements of this chassis if that gives you a better ride. 42 psi is not gospel nor actually required, and too many have assumed that putting up with a harsher ride than necessary.

It's a tired old narrative stuck in time, trying to delineate between LC and LX. When the LX is the heavier rig but needs lower pressures???

The only tire close to a "GEOLANDER AT 285 65r18" I can find is a Yokohama Geolandar A/T G015 LT285/65R18 125/122S Load Range E.

Is that the tire you are asking about?

Yes, @gaijin, you are exactly right. Just confirmed.

Thanks. I’m in a LC. The Michelins are 10x better ride than the KO2s I had before. But they were super pricey so I want as many miles as possible. I would assume that means go with what the math suggests, no?

I looked around, searched etc...but couldn't find where these had been mentioned. Can you share recommended pressure for Nitto Grappler 285/55r20 116T?

Thanks in advance.

A chalk test would be a great way to cross check potential tire wear and RCTIP.

I've got E rated 285/70/17 Goodyear Wrangler Ultraterrains.

Was running 35psi but then last time I was at Discount Tire they recommended I should be at around 45psi which is what they inflated them to.

I don't tow or have any extra weight. Aside from thinking about switching to SL rated tires (which I'm thinking of doing), any suggestions on pressure?

Hello @gaijin,

I think I asked this in the wrong thread. Would you please tell me the RCTIP for Falken AT4W 285/70R17 on TRD Rock Warrior wheels on a 2017 LX? I am undecided between the SL, C, and E load range, if you wouldn't mind providing all three.

Thanks!
Doug
