@gaijin whats the rctp for LT275/70/18 BFG ko2 load e on a 2018 LX with the TRD Pro BBS wheels? Thanks!

I think you have already answered your own question when you disagreed with my RCTIP recommendations (Link to your opinion):

I learned years ago from taking a defensive driving course given by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol that you should always run the maximum tire pressure specified on the tire sidewall. This gives you maximum tread pattern contact with the road. The car manufacturer does not manufacture the tires. The car manufacturer's sticker with recommended tire pressures is only to achieve a certain ride quality that the car manufacturer wants.

Have you changed your opinion?

Dude, wtf? Why bring that up? Yeah I gave up on that bs a long time ago which is why I’m asking.

Thank you.

@gaijin is it safe to assume the RCTIP for the Nokian ONE HT in size LT275 /70 R18 125S E1 is 41PSI ?
thanks for help.

I don't know. Which vehicle (LC200 or LX570) do you want me to assume these tires will be mounted on?

It will be for my land cruiser, darn I thought I gave you all that was needed, lol hopefully I’ll get this down before my next tire purchase.

Got it!

The RCTIP for those LT275/70R18 125/122S tires on your LC200 is... wait for it...
41psi F/R.

You were, indeed, safe in your assumption.

Excellent thanks @gaijin. Appreciate your help for all of us 200 owners. Getting these new tires installed tomorrow to use as my street/hwy meats. Looking forward to seeing how they perform.

Always glad to help my friends down under 🍻

The RCTIP for those LT285/65R17 121/118S Load Range E tires on your LC200 GXL is 320 kPa / 3.2 bar / 46 psi F/R.

P.S. I'll never forget a New Year's Eve I spent on the Rocks in Sydney - many good people who were generous with their good will.

@gaijin would you be so kind as to provide the proper RTCIP for the Falken Wildpeak AT3W LT285/65R18 in Load Range E?
they are mounted on a 2021 LC HE

thanks in advance

Thanks, heaps for that @gaiigin

They came from the Tyre shop with 37 all around and I bumped it up to 42psi.
These LT tires feel quite a bit harsher than the original Dunlop Grand Treks. To be expected going to an LT tire.

I was hoping you were going to say 37psi so I could have a plusher ride when not towing my 3.2T Caravan :)

Thanks again.

Sorry I couldn't help with your desire for a cushier ride, but let me share why the 46psi is the RCTIP:

Your stock 285/65R17 tires have a Load Limit of 2579 pounds. This is the amount of Load required of the tire to make the suspension system safe for your vehicle.

When replacing a non-LT tire with an LT tire, the Load Limit needs to be adjusted down by a factor of 1.1, this means that your replacement LT285/65R17 tires must have a Load Limit of at least 2345 pounds. At 46psi, your new tires exceed the requirement with 2379 pounds (45psi would be a little low, so rounded up to the nearest whole psi).

At 37psi, your new tires have a Load Limit of only 2041 pounds - not enough to safely meet the 2345 pound requirement.

At 42psi, you're better off at a Load Limit of 2229 pounds, but still not enough to safely meet the 2345 pound requirement.

Stay safe.

Hi @gaijin, I just put new rims and tires. Xan you recommend the RTCIP for Falken Rubitrek AT 265/70/17?

I'd be happy to, but you need to give me more info.

First, will these tires be mounted on a LC200 or LX570 and what Model Year?

Falken makes the Rubitrek A/T tire in two sizes that you could be asking about, so I need clarification. Please indicate which tire size you are asking about:

1. ISO-Metric 265/70R17 SL 115T
2 LT-Metric LT265/70R17 121/118S Load Range E

When I see your additional info, I'll be able to give you the RCTIP (Recommended Cold Tire Inflation Pressure).

This thread is super fun to comb through. I’d like to get in on the action with my newly mounted (but a year old) tires. 2009 LX, 285/75/18 Nitto Trail Grappler M/T’s. Thanks @gaijin!
