I'd be happy to, but you need to give me more info.

First, will these tires be mounted on a LC200 or LX570 and what Model Year?

Falken makes the Rubitrek A/T tire in two sizes that you could be asking about, so I need clarification. Please indicate which tire size you are asking about:

1. ISO-Metric 265/70R17 SL 115T
2 LT-Metric LT265/70R17 121/118S Load Range E

When I see your additional info, I'll be able to give you the RCTIP (Recommended Cold Tire Inflation Pressure).

Got it!

The RCTIP for those 265/70R17 SL 115T tires on your LX570 is 30psi F/R.

This thread is super fun to comb through. I’d like to get in on the action with my newly mounted (but a year old) tires. 2009 LX, 285/75/18 Nitto Trail Grappler M/T’s. Thanks @gaijin!

Nitto does not make the Trail Grappler M/T in an ISO-Metric size 285/75/18. So I had to look up on the Nitto web site and I have to assume you are asking about the LT-Metric LT285/75R18 129Q Load Range E tire.

If my assumption is correct, then:

The RCTIP for those LT285/75R18 129Q Load Range E tires on your LX570 is 35psi F/R.

Hope I'm right :bang:

That is correct! Thank you so much. When they were pulled off the tundra they were on, they’re close to 50psi. Happy to know I didn’t drive far in them at that pressure! Will air down now!

Thank you so much @gaijin!!

Even if 30 PSI is sufficient from a load perspective...

Depending on how the truck feels to you and whether you're an aggressive driver or not, you may very well need/want to increase the pressure beyond 30 PSI. Load support is only one variable to tire pressure. With the added sidewall of a 17" setup, the tire sidewalls can tend to roll over onto themselves in turns. That may dictate additional pressure for proper handling and stability.

Thanks for the input. Will keep that in mind. Will probably based it on how it feels when I drive the car. Thanks again!

Sure.

The recommended Cold Tire Inflation Pressure for the LT285/60R18 E 122/119S Nitto Terra Grappler G2 tires on your LC200 is 46psi Front/Rear.

The sidewall should say something like, "Maximum Load 3305/3000 Lbs @ 80psi." Sidewall should not say "Max Pressure 50" as you stated. Please check the tire size again and whether it is an LT-Metric tire.

The sticker on the door panel states the correct pressure for the tire size stated on the door panel - P285/60R18 which is a P-Metric tire.

What is the recommended tire pressure for the NITTO Ridge Grapplers LT285x65x18 E-rated for my LC200?
Thanks in advance.

Same as in my answer to your PM:

The RCTIP for those LT285/65R18 tires on your LC200 is 42psi F/R.

Yes, both the LT285/75R17 C 117/114Q and the LT285/75R17 E 121/118Q Nitto Ridge Geapplers on your LC200 have the same recommended Cold Tire Inflation Pressure - 37psi Front/Rear. If airing up to 42psi eliminates sway in your particular use case, then by all means use 42psi. You could run the C-Rated version of your tire up to 50psi Cold and the E-Rated version up to 80psi Cold with no harm.

Every time I post about airing down I seem to spawn a rash of critical posts citing the absurdity of my recommendation under some obscure set of unanticipated circumstances, but hey, that's the internet, right? Anyway, my personal rule of thumb is to air down to 50% tire pressure and use that as a starting point. This means, when you are on the trail and need to air down, measure the tire pressure and air down to 50% of that value. In your case, if your cold tire pressure is 37psi, then your hot pressure on the trail will probably be about 40psi - air down to 50% of that, or 20psi, as a starting point. Due to the myriad of external factors affecting optimum air down pressure, there is no formula for this, as far as I know. However, generally, the softer the terrain and/or the slower the speed, the lower one can safely go with the pressure. That said, because our rigs are heavy, and we do not have beadlock wheels, I cannot imagine a scenario where a 50% reduction in pressure would not get the job done.

Nearly four years hence, and still a goldmine of a post (thread). Thanks to the search function, but with much gratitude to you, @gaijin .

If you are putting these on a LC200 and NOT an LX570, then...

The RCTIP for those Standard Load ISO-Metric 305/60R18 116Q tires on a LC200 is 33psi F/R.

Are you running these lifted or without a lift?

What is the recommended tire pressure on a 2016 LC200, My Tires are Nitto Ridge Grappler LT285/70R18 E 127/124Q - 3850 @ 80

I have been running them at 46psi cold, I'm not sure how correct that is as I didn't chalk them.

Using the Toyo tire chart (I think Toyo and Nitto are the same company)

New Tire
30psi 40 45psi
LT285/70R18 Single 2180 2395 2600 2835 2995 3180 3415 3545 3720 3860 (E) 127

OEM 285-60-18 26 29 32 35psi
P285/60R18 114 2227 2348 2469 2601

So to get to 2601 ... Should I be just over 45psi.. so would that be 46psi..is that correct?

The RCTIP for those LT285/70R18 tires on your LC200 is 38psi F/R.

Hard to figure out your numbers posted above, but it looks like you are failing to factor in the difference between LT-Metric and P-Metric tires. Have another read of the Toyo monograph to figure out where you went wrong. Now that you have the answer, should be easier to figure out. Hint: your target Load Limit for LT-Metric tires is 2286 lbs. ;)
