some but not a lot of labor. Much of the labor was "gratis" from some mud friends. You had the perfect comment...the vehicle is only worth what another person will pay. I'm going to play it out and see what that is

Shoot, Smit.... i'll sell you mine for $19,499 if that's how you feel brotha! Come get it!

What many people don't realize is that they don't get their mod money back. They're lucky to get 50% of it. Sellers need their heads checked if they think they get all their mod money back for full value when they sell. They don't Plain and Simple. This market doesn't help any selling modified rigs. The group your selling to is already hard to find and with nobody having money it's even harder.

Im not going to comment on the asking price in public, but i know for a fact a vehicle is only worth what someone will pay.

I agree with everything that you have said...especially the commenting on price in public. No matter what you are trying to sell, you will only have a transaction if you find someone willing to pay a price that you are willing to let your item go for. All I am trying to say is that you just never know who wants what and how much money they have to buy it. Sure, this is a very niche market. Of the 300 million people in the US, David only needs one who loves his unique build and is excited to buy the truck for pennies on the dollar vs. cost of build.

I can tell you that there are some deep pockets here on mud. I can personally attest to some very healthy personal balance sheets that may or may not surprise people.

One thing that I have learned over the past few years is that there are plenty of millionaires in this country (fewer today than 18 months ago, but still a good bit around). People will still spend their money on what they want.

I wish it were in the cards for me to buy this truck. I would do it in a heartbeat. Then I would want to start a mission to get SOCALFJ's truck and trailer over to GA as well (Dave, you better not let that thing go again :D)!

Dave (SOCALFJ) clear some PM's!!! I am trying to send one to you and you are full.

Mark,
I'm in sales...I'm always open to negotiations...I do it daily.
best,
david...

FYI, as a courtesy and also a rule on IH8MUD.com please do not question the price someone is asking for the item in his or her thread. PM them privately or start your own thread about the cost of the vehicle. I know we are all friends on here and no disrespect was intended. Unfortunately when you read the thread now it’s a train wreck and is not helping David sell his rig. David if you want me to delete any posts let me know. Please keep in mind we get a lot of visitors here in the SoCal 80s section. Thank you for understanding.

Tare,
Thanks for looking out for me. Let's keep all the posts up here I enjoy reading them. Who knows these could be the last posts of mine for a while :)

This thread could also be a valualbe tool for others that want to sell their rigs I know there was no disrespect and never took it that way.

Can I put my so cal 80's stickers on a Tacoma???

cruiserhead forever,
David...

I've got a couple left David - when you've got your Tacoma, send me your address and I'll sent them gratis because you have such an awesome 80 and the fact that you were super to a newbie at the first couple SnT's I attended!

That's why I posted here in his Moving On thread and not on his For Sale thread. I held off for a couple days but just couldn't help myself. If there is a pot of $h!t I have been know to stir it.

I will kindly bow out now and try to contain myself better next time.

Looks like I'll be staying around a while longer :)

You can't get rid of me yet. While I had a few good offers on the cruiser, but none that hit my asking price, I decided not to sell it. However, I did purchase a new Tacoma TRD offroad edition dual cab last night. This will be new daily driver and project while the cruiser goes down to the OC and gets parked in my brothers warehouse. Eventually I may sell it or I might just keep it forever and get buried in it.

I'm hoping this fall to be able to do some trail runs with you guys in the cruiser and maybe even Rubicon next year. Yes, Sammy I did put this in writing :)

cheers,
David...
